345 awning sizes
The wife and I are planning to purchase new awnings for our 345 Aluminati. We currently have the one patio awning but plan to purchase and install all five awnings that come on the LE or as as option. Ours came with just the one and it is in bad shape. ZipDee tells me to measure the length of the aluminum wrap. That is the dimension they need to provide new awnings. Does anyone know these dimensions or is anyone willing to measure the awnings on their 345? Thanks for the help.

That sounds like a great idea.
Can you tell me if the same Zip Dee hardware for a manul awning will fit the powered awning option?

The new "powered awning" by Zip Dee, will not be available, we are told, until sometime this April.
Therefore I do not know what hardware the powered model uses, but I will try to find out, and will post whatever answers I get from Zip Dee.

Thanks Andy,
Can you post the awning rail length for my 1982 310.
It's just the door side I want.
As I am also trying to source a used awning or just the metal hardware if the fabrics shot.
Anyone who wants to make me an offer please PM me.

Which year do you have? You have listed 2 diffferent years.
Your post says 1982 yet your info on the left says 1983.
If you have an 1982 MH, the Zip Dee awning dimension is 22' 2 1/2" for the curb or road side.
If you have an 1983 MH, the Zip Dee awning dimension is 22' 5 1/2" for the curb or road side.

Zip Dee powered awning.
Zip Dee's powered awning, and it's prices, will not be available until sometime this April.
The good news is that the original awning can be converted to the powered awning.
The "CFR", cover, fabric and roller tube along with the spring, can be used with the powered model.
BUT, all the hardware must be replaced with the powered awning hardware, etc.
As more information ibecomes available, we will post it as an update.

A full size Zip Dee awning for the curb side of your 24 foot Airstream motorhome, is 14' 10 3/4 ".

I am assuming I have an awning rail but I haven't looked......automatic awning sounds good since that is the hardest task to accomplish on our Ambassador....but maybe 14' is smaller and less of a task. On the other hand, the MH seems a lot taller than our trailer.....p

All Airstream and Argosy motorhomes were built will awning rails. For that matter, so were all the trailers from the 50's up.
Paula, motor home size awnings are very different dimensions than trailer awnings.
A 24 foot Airstream trailer, as an example, uses a 13 foot 11 1/4 inch awning.

Andy, Thanks for your help with the awning sizes for our 345. Can you give me a quote for all five awnings plus shipping to Fredericksburg, TX 78624. We are ready to order as soon as my wife decides between her last two color choices. We have already gotten quite a bit of stuff from Inland RV and like your site. In fact I plan to place a small order later this morning when you open. Please reply to lance@vonprum.com or call 360-213-6035. I may just try to reach you when I call in my order. Thanks for being there for us.

Thanks for checking Andy. Mine is a 1983.
My mechanic says that I need a 16foot awning even though the rail length is 22 off feet.
He says that the awning I need is not the same length as the rail.
Does this sound right?

Awning hardware "MUST" be mounted to a main bow.
Guessing at the size, doesn't get the job done.
Zip Dee's manual states that a 16 foot awning will not properly fit any Airstream or Argosy motorhome ever built, from 1977 to 1988.
The specified awning length for a 1983 310 Airstream motorhome is 22" 5 1/2 inches.

Thanks Andy, I have seen pictures of 310 with awnings of different lengths
Some finish behind the bedroom side window some finish behind the wheel arch. I guess as long as the hardware at each end is mounted on the ribs either length is fine.
Are there other exact lengths specified or should we just measure 'rib to rib' to determine the awning length to order?

Measure from the center of a rivet, which is the center of each main bow.
