325 front furnace

So I got my new furnace for the AS. Looks good, except for the vents. They are. Different from the original. Not even close. Not interchangable either. So I got to make a plate that covers the old holes. So dimensionally the furnaces are the same, but the stainless vent vent to the outside is differant. I wish they'd tell you this before you buy. Old classic stuff must adapt to the new . I am old classic stuff..... And I don't like to adapt. I like old..........DJ

Having to modify “bolt on ”/ plug & play
stuff really does suck
Just think after it’s done how proud you’ll feel that you made it work!
I didn’t have to do this work because the previous owner of my 345 did the work, and did pretty good job, and it looks good and works
Good luck & happy (and warm) camping

Hi guys
There was no furnace in this unit when I got it. I bought a 30k btu suburban. I don't know what was stock, but I would really have preferd a plug and play unit.
Your right I can plate it ,and it'll look good, but stock would have been better.
My bumper is almost done. It is some seriously cool looking steel. I'll take pictures when it's done. Take care. DJ

The original furnace was a deu-therm or something like that...a POS when they were made....were known for heat chamber cracks amongst other problems. Attach a photo of your outside vent when you can, and check out the thread "It's Never Done"....I went through the same problem...lots of pictures including re-tiging the outside skin back to original , Regards, Bob
