310 and other single axle - Leaf spring Weld

Hello,

I encountered a new problem. I replaced the leaf springs. I gave it to a company and they cut and welded the U bracket on and they welded the ends of the leaf springs together. As I remember it was like this at the original spring. But the moment I did lift the Motorhome with the airbags - on one side the welds came off. The other side is okay. My question is now, how should it be - the ends welded together or not?

Those leaves shouldn't be welded together on the ends, as they flex they all change lengths, mine did not have the leaves welded together, I would grind them all off and separate them

They should not have welded the U-bolt either.

I would take it to a welder who understands and has worked on leaf springs.

And if it was welded properly with good penetration it wouldn't bust out like shown in your picture.
