250 meets 250 meets 250... "made for Germany" in Germany
Hello best AIRSTREAM friends
The saison endet already, you see in my other thread.
But one of the highlight we had yesterday.... on very sunny sunday.
First on saturday at my house "Klaus" from "Nürnberg" visit me in the evening.
He is on a very long trip back from Finland. He is the owner of the first 250 that is "made for Germany" in 1991. He stay in Finland for a half year for his work. He take his "home" to his workingplace. He say better than every hotel.... he feel home.!!
so he made a stop over at my house...
At the evening we go to a restaurant and have a nice meal.
Talking about our 250... work and and..
We know us only by phone and mail, our first meeting. Very nice people.!! His 250 is in nice condition, he owned it now around 15 years. With many many trips for his work..
On Sunday Morning after the breakfast, an other friend, I know for longer, with the next 250..... the last ever made 250 with burgundy red stripe.
Alfred "Ali" and Birgit
We talk and look at our Streamer. All the same model, but every are diffrent. In smal details you can see the hand made produktion of our MOHOs...
The last from Ali has the stonger chassis, the one from Klaus not the cocktailchair. So we had enough to see.
Later on the day we make a trip with our Streamer around the area I live.
Picture I make through the mirror
at the photo stop
But it was not easy than to find a parking at a cafe to make a smal stop for a coffee....
So we do what all of us in our situation will do, we make a stop at a MOHO-parking and make our own coffee....
.... Part 1 ...

Part 2...
at the Moho parking
watch the cofffee cup..
best regards.... Birgit, Ali,... Olga,Klaus,.... Doro, Peter.....
After the coffee brake, Ali go home directly..
Klaus and me change the cars... Klaus whant to test the 6,5L Diesel, because he has the org 6,2L inside.
You remember, all 250 "made for Germany" has a Diesel inside...
There is a difference, but not real big.. The rest... the same impression...
Klaus stay one more night and go home on Monday.
It was a smal but fantastic Airstream meeting. Maybe the smalest, but the biggest 250 meeting in europe... This three 250, are the only known 250 in germany. There is one more in Holland and one more in Great Briten, you know... but no Diesel and later import from US
Maybe we see next time more AS together, we hope so.....
Klaus last night behind my house... end of the meeting....
Thanks for watching
and best regards from all of us.......

Remarkable! Thanks for posting all the photos. Even in the States, such a bevy of beauty -- a passel of pulchritude -- would be very rare to see!
Wally would be proud IMO.

That's great to see. I think there may be a couple of red ones in Netherlands.
I would live to see some internal photos. The 250s had a fairly standard set up with rear corner bath and either dinette or cocktail chairs, but I have seen quite a few other variants.
They were a non standard special order model and Airstream hold no info on them. I don't think there was a specific manual for the 250, but would be interested to know if any of the German 250s had a 250 specific manual.
The only info I know of is the options price list on this site and I have five loose pages of A4 specific to 250 wiring and plumbing. I also have an article about the German imports which I have posted to this site.
I was once told that the 250 was made by the commercial division, but I never been able to substantiate that. I do know that Airstream made a 250 ambulance and astrovan, but have not seen any photos. When I bought my van in 2007 I was told it had been an ambulance, but am not sure that is true. It's believed there were feeer than 50 ever made.
The 250s are popular in Europe due to better gas mileage - generally diesel or overdrive. Plus, they are better suited to the smaller roads.
I would love to hear any other people have on the 250.
Nick

If you will allow a couple of shorty Argosy to attend, I am sure we could double the number next time!

Is there away I could get the wiring and plumbing info you have? No USA model manuals were produced.

1991 Classic 250 MH
Ours came with the corner bath and bed. It has a couch that makes into a double bed along with a dinette that can be used as a single. It has Captain chairs that can be rotated for the driver and passenger.
We've owned it since 1993.

Hi friends
The area I live in "Niedersachen" is between "Bremen" and "Osnabrück" , in the north of Germany. Ali is coming from Bremen and Klaus out of Bavaria, the area of Nürnberg, he does the longest trip to my area.

If we make the next meeting we will inform you. And I hope there are coming more AIRSTREAM Motorhome together.
ALL are welcome, also the shorty ARGOSY up to the longer CLASSIC.... I like them all.
Spezial I like your "Bella", a fantastic renovation. If you in my area, you allways welcome for a stop over. Coffee includet.
For this year the season is finihed. Today I Bring my AS into the Winter quarters. The weather comes to be bad and it is better to have it inside...
Next year, a new season, will start maybe in April.
all best regards
Peter

Wow. So rare to see 3 250s. We had looked for one to purchase here in the states a number of years ago, but the pickings were very slim.
