2021 Get-Together…….

Now that it is official that our Arkansas Get-Together is cancelled I would like to propose an alternate site. I have successfully organized (3) “Get-Togethers”. The fall foliage is awesome in Cooperstown, NY at that time of the year which all that were at the previous trips know. Space is limited there however, (In the Woods) plenty of room in the fields, full hook-ups (50 amp, sewer) discounted rates for us. Awesome food, provided last trip from (Charly) Streamquest. Pennwood has more room and might be more centrally located for some of the Western folk. In any event let me know if there is any interest…..I can throw the final plans together in 1 week. It would be great to see everyone. Regards, Bob

Pretty cool……starting to get some feedback already on a possible fall “Get-Together”. Having put together (3) successful rallies I think I have worked all the bugs out. A special thanks again to my good friend Rich Luhr (publisher) for Airstream Life magazine for donating his company’s time in creating not only the art work but providing the blue T Shirts at cost that we all got at the Pennwood rally in 2016, I still wear mine ! The last rally in Cooperstown we had bacon wrapped delights from Charly’s (Streamquest) fine dining restaurant (Embers) in Marshfield, MA., and of coarse Tony’s (Izususweets) famous cheesecake…..boy I really miss him……In any event, I am currently checking with Pennwood for availability for the weekend after Columbus Day, with the alternate site of Hartwick Highlands campground in Cooperstown, NY. All of you that have been to either gatherings know the lay out. The baseball “Hall of Fame” is open and in full swing for those that might be interested if we end up there. Regards, Bob

Just drove past Ember and caught a glimpse of Charly’s 370 only because I was stuck in Marshfield Fair Traffic!

That’s Charly’s custom 325 diesel….the 370LE stays in the shop behind the restaurant. He’s got a thing for shinny stuff ! Regards, Bob

Our vote would be for Cooperstown. The only trip we are pondering is a fall trip to visit our friends in Maine.

All contingent on a comprehensive compression test on Wednesday to see if I need a valve replacement. Unfortunately, not on the Cummins.

I’ve been a flying pig for 14 years. Hope its just a check and I can get a couple years. New one will probably be a TAVR.

Ha! Often wondered if the rest of the pig became bacon and pork chops! Like those Charlie brought to Cooperstown!

Since I brought it up, looks like a valve job is in my near future. Got almost 15 years out of a 10-15 year valve. Discussing options on the 16th. Not a surprise but reality came home to roost.

Seems like a procedure they do every day now……technology has gone way forward in that department since 15 years ago…..maybe the new one will last 30 years. In any event, if it comes to replacement, I’m sure it will be easier on you than it was 15 years ago. Take care, Regards, Bob

I’ve got one of these out in my dad’s old shop. Was hoping they can do a trans catheter lap job to get me by.

Another great weekend in Cooperstown! It’s great to have a back up camper while I’m rebuilding the carburetor on the 370LE. In 3 weeks we’ll be up at the north end of lake George at Roger’s rock for the weekend. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

I’ve been a little concerned about hanging the new second auxiliary tranny cooler low, but after seeing Mel’s cooler set up at the Michigan rally I guess I have nothing to worry about. My reactions aren’t as great as they used to be, but maybe they never were considering they amount of deer hits I have had. Regardless, I drew up the plans and my buddy Charly (Streamquest) got this made up for me. I’m still waiting on some carburetor parts from Holley so it looks like I’ll be in the trailer for another trip. I installed 2 new 12 volt/110 volt TV’s with built in DVD players. The trailer does not have an inverter installed yet, but it is on the short list, Regards, Bob
