Hopefully weíll find a way to get together in 2022!!

Thanks for the kind and understanding words. It was my mistake to try to accomplish this by renting an entire group area, with 1 person holding the bag if many cancel.
In the future it should only be attempted, by each individual making there own reservations. Unfortunately, the right place in a beautiful setting is very hard to find. This overflow area at Petit Jean State Park fit the bill, featuring all the sites with 30 amp and water and the secluded lake front setting.

We took very personal offense to one Members comment

considering the many hours and preparations went into this from our side. My wife Cyndi spent many hours creating special artwork for everyone, including rally signs you would have discovered approaching the park. The breaking point was the price increase (which today was revoked by the park with an apology) and the now revised $1000.- I would had to pay out of pocket next week. In hindsight, we are happy to not have to spend our precious camping time with people that do not share our values of friendship and respect.

I already let Peter know last week that unfortunately I had to back out. Came here to post as such publicly, unfortunately now with different siblings having both a wedding AND a baby shower in October there was no way for me to make it work anymore.

Now I see it's cancelled, sorry things shook out this way Peter

Hi Peter. Feel free to call or text. Text is probably better. 214-535-1665. Molly and I would still like to go to Petit Jean. It is a beautiful park, but will there be any other classics still going to be there? Kenneth

Peter, I can see that this was a joint effort! You and your wife worked to research and organize this get together, and I look forward to doing the motorhome rally when the stars align

May I ask if any of the items she made is available? (I would enjoy one of the arrow signs:-)

Let us know, should at least pay to cover shipping, materials, and your (her)time

She said sure, just pay for the shipping. They were supposed to be gifts anyway. She saw first hand how hard I worked to get the 350 ready, so those little trinkets were her way of acknowledging everybody's effort.

PM me your mailing address and we will get it out soon and let you know the shipping charges.

I refunded the extra $90 to 11 people (which shows you right there how short we were to meet the 22 goal) If you don't get yours in a week or so, please let me know, so I can check what happened.

The art work your wife did for the event is really special Peter. She is obviously a talented artist. Pretty great that she took the time, effort, and creativity to do all that. Please let her know that even though the event got canceled, we totally appreciate her work. I’m also blessed with a wife that’s always ready and willing to chip in and make things a real team effort. Just let her know her work did not go un-noticed.

Ha Martin, glad it finally arrived. Whatever happened to airmail? Looks like the white cat is winning, since she just took the black king
On a side note, this week my thoughts are with all of you who had planned for this gathering for so long. As some others, I had planned a long time ago to have this week off and we took the 350 out for a Texas Hill country tour. She is running tops and all systems are go.

Originally I planned this gathering for October which is typically the month with the mildest temps. It looks like we had lots of severe weather all over with more to come in the next 2 days. Silver lining?

Weather has been weird here in Michigan. They can't get a forecast correct more than 2 days out. We set up our first outing one week in advance and we spent three days in heavy downpours. Silver lining I found 2 more leaks that needed to be addressed and we are ready for our second outing. Fall color event in the works.

Pretty weird down here in Texas. We decided to bail out of our campground and drove back to Austin. The campground has a low water crossing access road and many trees. Last I heard a few minutes ago is that they issued a tornado warning, 40 mph straight line winds and 1/2" hail.
Made it back to the barn just in time for some massive down pours. And all this from Hurricane Pamela crossing all the way into Texas from the Pacific ocean.
