This gathering is sounding like a lot of fun. The chance to meet so many of you that have been names only, and to have a look at many loved Classic motorhomes.

Even tho I singed up a while ago it's looking like I won't be able to make the trip.
I'm recovering from a Stroke I had a few months ago. My recovery is coming along nicely but still a ways to go before I'll be ready to do a bunch of maintainance on the coach or be able to drive in long distance.

So if any one has been thinking about going, I like to offer my sight there for your enjoyment. Give Peter a call and he will help you to get hooked up.

Sorry I can't make this gathering, maybe next time.

In the mean time I'd like to invite any airstream travelers to stop here in the Fl panhandle for a stop over at our place. We are 15 miles inland from Panama City beach. And have a couple of sights with partial hookup, and would enjoy the company.

I had too many cancellations and the Park just notified me that they had a price increase. I would be left with holding the bag for $700.-
Plus the park has limited facility usage due to covid

Sorry guys, I will be refunding the 90.- soon and may be contacting you about the best way to do so. Unfortunately we all lose the $25.- deposit.

I would like a list of who cancelled and who was still planning on going. I know at least Charly (Streamquest) and I mailed in the full amount $115.00 (LAST YEAR). Because of a price increase or a change of plans at the 9th hour 1 month before our planned trip we should not have to forfeit our $25.00 deposit. I have organized (3) “Get-Togethers”……all successfully, 2 at Cooperstown, NY, and 1 at Pennwood, PA. No deposit was required and they are both private campgrounds. Although I had a few cancellations, it was not enough to cancel the entire event. In any event, being that I have already taken the time to close my business down for that week if any one is interested I can arrange a “Get-Together” at Pennwood or Cooperstown for the same week, just let me know. I will start a separate thread “2021 Get-Together”. Regards, Bob

Really appreciate your efforts in trying to make this happen Peter.

As the organizer you should not have to carry the can for those (like me) who had to cancel, so it is totally understandable to cancel the whole event, especially as you have had to put in huge amounts of your own time and effort to get it this far.

I hate to say it Peter but you made the right call. Between the cancellations, how the site handled the price increase and the Covid restrictions AND having to foot a $700 (and probably growing) bill just makes it not worth it.

Sadly the travel climate for next year isn't exactly looking rosy right now either but hopefully that will change for the better. Only time will tell.

I will be sending you a check for $ 230.- , half of which you can forward to Charly. The list is in this thread. Feel free to contact who ever you wish, if they reply. Several people i had to write to several times to get an answer others never replied. I was dealing with a State Park and not a private Campground. Best of luck !

Very kind Martin (and Brad), but I would feel better to refund the $90 and be done with it. And for the record, I did send a complaint to the State Park about the after-the-fact price increase.

I also know that some people would not have agreed to the covid mask mandates for social gatherings and frankly, I was not willing to put up with it.

Dang it. Just saw the news about cancellation. I’m with Brad and Martin, all the work you’ve put into this you deserve a couple nights out for dinner. You probably just got my check. I don’t want you to eat any of the expenses by yourself for sure.

As far as my money goes you can keep it and do as you feel the notion to do. Maybe a cash reserve for a future event.

Too bad the Arkansas state park system seems to be so dishonest. Saying that I think Arkansas will be a 'drive through' state for me from now on.

Bob, I’m not quite sure what your point is in this post but I believe all 3 of the gatherings that you had a hand in organizing were all PRE COVID. You did a great job with those gatherings but with our current situation it makes things just a weeeee bit more difficult. Heck, it’s hard to plan for things a week from now let alone months in advance. We are in a real fluid situation and it’s just more difficult to pull things off.

Peter: thank you for taking the initiative of trying to organize this rally. It’s an unthankful job, having to deal with changes, cancellations, covid uncertainties etc. We obviously don’t want you to lose any money over this. So please do let us know if that is the case. Hopefully we’ll find a way to get together in 2022!!

Kenneth, the reservations were for the 22 sites of the overflow area and granted to us as a group. Individual reservations and/or cancellations were not possible. Now if you want to rent the entire area, it would be available to you for $2910.60.
I do have reserved several overflow sites in the camp area, I could transfer one of them to you. But you would have to send me a Private message real soon with your Phone number.
