Awesome, right now the 22 slots are spoken for, but I am sure there will be some cancellations and changes.

The rally area at Petit Jean State Park is now officially confirmed, still waiting on deposit requirements. I think it will be just $20.- per site for the non refundable deposit.

I now will start a stand by list for the rally area, with nearby camping spots availability coming soon.

Thanks for the consideration. We are probably not going to be able to attend due to a family event conflict that is due to covid. Keep us on the bottom. I think the new guy rkgnaz should move to the top.

Important!
I have identified at least 10 additional 30amp/water sites for that entire week, all within easy walking distance and suitable for big rigs (some maybe a bit unlevel, but I already pre-qualified them) Some are in groups of 2 or 3.

Deposit requirement is non refundable $23 plus tax and fees per site.

Anyone willing to step up to the plate and reserve 10 or more for later distribution?

I will be making the deposit for the Group site hopefully today.

Oct 11 -Oct 17th 2021 Deposit

The non refundable Deposit is $25.- per site.

The 22 sites are booked as a group area and individual cancellations are not possible. Cancellation is only possible for the entire group area.

Once you pay the deposit, you commit to the balance of $90.- to be paid 30 days prior to the rally start of Oct 11th.
The Park wants all payment to go through 1 person, instead of having to deal with 22 individuals.
In addition to the 22 sites, I am also booking 5 sites with 30amp/water for the same dates just across the street. More are available.

Payment instruction via pm

Thanks Mel, extra amounts above the $25.-will go into Escrow and will be refunded, should the rally be cancelled for unseen reasons.

Hope that don't happen.

I'm in the mist of replacing the hot water tank now. They must have put the inter skin on after the tank was in. Had to cut 3/4" out to get the new one in. The engine heater hoses are about 6" too short and of course the water lines are too short.

Next replace the dump valves. Then the fuel tank needs to come down. Got new bell cranks, but can't figure out what I need to pull the pitman arms off.

The work is never ending and continues. These machines are a way of life.

Please check your private messages on how to submit the $25.- deposit. I have only received deposit for 9 out of the 22 sites to date. I already paid the full amount. If you changed your mind, please let me know so I can re-assign your spot.

Thanks

One step closer as we got an important task checked off the list, we got our first covid vaccine shots today. I was on the schedule but the wife falls through the cracks age wise. After much begging she scored a no show spot so we are both good to go. My sawbones wasn't going to let me leave town without the vaccine.

Hopefully by the time October rolls around the world will have returned to something a little closer to normal.

I have friends that have gotten it, but only medical professionals and first responders. Glad to see it's getting distributed further and further!

It seems our little area out on the peninsula is the trial kickoff for the state after the medical people and first responders. Sequim did a first come first serve on Thursday and it was a fiasco. They had a mile log line of cars and were turning people away two hours before they opened. This is a town of 6,500 people.

Port Angeles took reservations for two weekends and while we were there it was orderly and very well run. The longest wait was the fifteen minutes after the shot before you could leave. We were there about an hour from pulling up to the line of cars to the time we pulled out of the parking lot.

We were just lucky to be in the right spot at the right time.

Dan, that's great! I hope the after affects of the shot weren't to noticeable. Do you know which version/brand of shot you got, single shot or two shot?

In the UK the 'jab' (as Boris calls it) is going into 'at risk' groups first, which means over 80s and care workers, both my parents have had the Pfizer/BioNtech version although the Oxford/AZ is now the most common.

Officially (at least) that group is now 'done' (it isn't as Denise's Dad is still awaiting his) and they have moved onto the over 70's - that should take about 3weeks.

A 'big' milestone yesterday - they reached the point where the rate of giving the vaccination overtook the rate of new infection. However the area where I live is already calculated that over 30% of the population has already had Covid (not been exposed, actually had the virus), so hopefully the numbers should very quickly fall.

I imagine a lot of places are like that, very high rates of people who have already had it. Anecdotally, of everybody that I know that's under 40, over two dozen friends & friends of friends, well over half have had it and recovered. Hopefully once the vaccinations trickle down to those in their 60s and 50s this will finally calm down

We received the Moderna vaccine, two shots four weeks apart. No after affects at all so far. I am concerned about the next several weeks because my rheumatologist took me off some of my meds for fear they might interfere with the vaccine working. Going without those meds may be far worse than the vaccine after affects.

Some parts of this getting old really sucks.
