Rivet 1992 350LE questions

Can a 92 350LE owner tell me if the belt system is serpentine and if so, the part number for the belt?

Peter, needless to say I'm curious as to why you're asking about a 350LE.....

Hi Peter,

I imagine my 91 250 has the same set up. Belt set up varies depending on whether it has factory air con (see photos from chassis guide).
https://www.gmcmi.com/wp-content/upl...sis-Manual.pdf

My 91 Airstream manual has slightly different GM belt numbers. I think that might be because i also have California emissions and the smog kit. I can send them over when I get home if you are interested.

all the best
Nick

cause it has a Circle around the D on the steering column and a Gear vendor overdrive switch on the steering wheel. Enough said?

Thanks for the Info, Nick, much appreciated! I was hoping they switched to serpentine system by 92, but I suppose its the same old belt system.

Hold on the belt number until I gather a bit more info.

I believe the belt system on the 86 345 I dismantled was a hybrid in that it had a v-belt for the ac to ps to wp and a serpentine belt for the alt to air pumps to wp.

I still have most if not all of the components sitting up in the barn being guarded by Tommy.

The system on 92 350LE in question is all there and functioning and I have extensive copies of work performed in the last few years, except belt replacement. The current owner is not mechanically inclined, so he can not answer those questions. My plan is to fly to Florida in a few weeks and drive it back to Texas. My suitcase will be full of goodies.

Is this a inspect and buy and drive trip or have you already inspected and just buying and driving?
