Cabinet doors
Well, still waiting on the radiator to get done, hopefully next week!?
While waiting on it, decided to take care of some wood work inside!
I bought the cutters to make the doors, about the same as buying the doors, without the exact profiles!
Made a door to cover the old area where the speakers and VHS player use to call home, and used a shock that I put on all the doors. Cut the center brace out and now have a little more storage'
I have also been wanting to make a medicine cabinet to take up the dead space the old tube TV use to be. I used the cut out to put in the back of the cabinet!
Then the last item was to put in a 12V USB charger and 12V appliance plug. I used the wires for power that use to run to the roof vent control, now a MaxxFan with remote control! The plugs have a fuse in the mount for protection.

Looks great!
Ive done many things over the years, but never wood working. Might have to give that a try to do exactly the same thing for the VCR space.
thanks,
Aaron

Thanks Y'all
With the Furrion roof air units, they were originally manual controls.
I was able to change that out to the electronic control, that also controls the heater, all from the new digital thermostat.
Also last year I pulled the old tank hot water heater and put in a Girard tankless, that works great! Unlimited hot water!

Finely got the rebuilt radiator back. 4 row 5/8 wide tubes! $730.00
Also my radiator guy showed me how bad the old core was. This is what happens not using distilled water, and sitting to long not being used!
No wonder I could not get her cooled down!

Lol.
Wow that rad was really bad. I did the same and boy did it make a difference. Now I have to put the 195 degree thermostat back in though. It sits at 180 and doesn’t move. On the future todo list …

I need to get that sorted asap. I think Cosmo is running slightly hotter in the past few years, especially in the mountains. Did you make or need to make any other alterations or was it a straight swap out?
thanks

The end tanks were put back on the new core. So no changes nessary. All bolting right back up like the OEM radiator. [emoji106]
Radiator shop just needs to order the 4 row with the 5/8" wide tubes.

Radiator back in!
Have her put back together.
First run looking good on temps. Also had some good cross winds, and boy does that new sway bar do a great job of keeping it to a minimum! 20 to 25 mph winds.

Peter, funny you said "hope you remembered that one bolt"! I forgot 2 of em, holding the power steering cooler down. After the drive looking at everything, I found the 2 bolts holding it down missing!
Hey Nick, this is part of the "Banks Powerpack Ram-Air", and this is the "Supper Scoop" that was zip tied to the grill when we got her. I made a fixed mount with new 4" hose.

New rear camera
The old black and white rear camera gave up the ghost!
Ready for an up grade and going with a much smaller camera.
Had to make a custom install fitting for the camera feed and to fill the big hole that the old cable went through the steel rusting fitting! Now all aluminum and stainless fittings! I can remove the small cover on the new fitting, and will be able to disconnect the camera cable, all from the outside, if needed!
Now we have a 10" LCD color screen for these old eyes, and a much brighter image!

cmadmax, your aluminum bits are something I drool over. I first saw your front window drain covers and thought they were fantastic. Now you post this and I can't not ask for you to share. I see you also made aluminum spacers for the led rear marker lights. I have those same ones, and have already installed them on the front as mine were really bad. The rear all work for now, but I have new ones to match the front. I needed to figure out how to build a spacer to allow the wiring to sit, and your solution is fantastic.
For the camera, did you tap into the original wiring to pass the video feed, or did you run a fresh cable full length to the back? The cap look beautiful. Working on this airstream has made me appreciate stainless steel and aluminum so much. The stuff that airstream decided to cast in aluminum last so much better than plastic stuff.

Ok please share with us the parts you used to accomplish this. I am very interested in making this same change. Provided I don’t have to run a cable the length of the motor home.

I used the Fookoo II 10" monitor and single rear camera.
I cut the ends of the old system cable off, and patched the ends of the new system camera into the cable. The new feed is only 4 wires needed verses the massive wires of the old system. We had last last year, all the center panels down for cleaning before installing the new air units and vent, so was not in the mood to take them all down again!
I used the the shielded line of the old system for the video feed of the camera.
For the entrance using the old hole for the camera feed, I made from aluminum this fitting. A cap on top, that is sealed, and at the inside, it is held in place with screws that secures the complete unit.
I mounted the monitor using the 1" ball mounts like RAM. There is a t-slot in the back of the 10" monitor that accepts their t-slot fittings.
With the Running lights, yes I purchased these from Supper Bright LEDs because of the back housing I wanted. Did not think of the 3 in the center!
I did not take a photo of the 3 plates I made. I made them from 1/4" aluminum plate. I used hole cutters for the wire access, a bigger one in the center and smaller ones for the wire feed from the fixture and cut it to the center. I did not run a separate ground, and have had no problem grounding through the SS screw. The center light I mounted a small aluminum plate to deflect the light from the camera.

I also put a switch in the panel with the inside and outside temperature to turn off the system completely, to keep from parasitic load when not in use. It does forget the date and time when turned off using this, not an issue with me.

Chris, that was a real nice solution to the rear camera mounting
