I just used Rustoleum flat black.

Did the process you suggested. Thanks a bunch!

Chris, nice job. I revamped my propane compartment minus dropping the tank.i wanted to use up the remaining propane so I could resell the gauge and the other ports. My question is did you try sourcing the rubber propane line from the regulator to the copper main line I had no luck thanks Ken.

Thanks Ken.
I have not tried to source the rubber lines yet. If you have a local rubber shop that does hydraulic lines and such, that could be a possibility!?

On to the next project.
Repairing the battery drawer before the new AGM battery's go in.
The floor of the drawer was almost gone. Had to bolt the lips on support angle to make the trip to AZ the first of the year.

Thicker gauge steel and 2 supports across the bottom, not just one!
Will be working on an added support system to keep the weight off the tracks while it is closed.

I sure like the frame mounted tray on the 310 much better! No moving parts!

I always thought taking the very heavy batteries with very stiff cables and putting it all on a slide out drawer where they are prone to rub on stuff was somewhat of a dumb/failure prone idea.

Personally I would relocate the batteries somewhere like under the couch, and repurpose the drawer as storage... But I have a 310, so I'm just in the peanut gallery

Got the battery drawer back in. Used 10 gauge plate for the bottom, and a 1 1/4 square tube for the bottom support in the center of the big AGM house batteries. Took care of those stiff battery cables, and used 2/0 welding cable and tinned cable ends.

Used plates on the sides to mount the extra support bearings. Don't have the angles mounted yet that they will slide onto when closed.

Was about 3' short of my red cable to finish up. Had to us some of the stiff cable to finish up the last 2 cables. Good that they don't have to move, only when you have to change the batteries.

Won't use anything less than the AGM's anymore, Lithium Ion would be nice, but not that deep of pockets!

Nice job Chris. Welding cable is definitely the way to go.

Thanks Brad. Keep that snow in Kentucky, we don't need it in Tennessee![emoji39]

For sure on the welding cable, could have used a smaller gauge on the house bank, but used up my 2/0, much easier to work with, and had all the connectors!

No more sagging lines!Click image for larger version

Hey

This Larry in NC, the previous owners dad. Been looking for u on here and today your page popped up. I felt it was you when you mentioned the 310 and changing the tires in NC. You face led to mention how hot it was too, you and your son are tough guys to deal with that heat. Your rig looks great and hope y’all are well.

Hey Larry, great to hear from you. How is your project going? If we get over your way, we will hookup. How is Justin's remodeling going?

Life is good

Hey! My project is going well, got a little burnt out during the winter but back on it, basically cosmetics inside is unfinished, plus all the rookie stuff I find daily. Your son is talented too, love the tv cab. Justin house 90% done. I think of your family every time I see Columbia on net. My Instagram is 70xlt for argosy pics.

Thanks for your friendship! 🇺🇸

Got a little time in the Zephyr, 4 days at one of our beautiful state parks here in Tennessee! Have been to pickwick landing many times in the last 30 years, but first time camping at the state park.
Filled up the propane tank $$$, and the gremlins showed up!
First the house batteries not working? Found the breaker bad on the battery drawer! Bypassing for the trip and a new one on the way.
Then when we were leaving the COOP, low voltage on the dash gauge, then it went back up!? Back at the house took the dog house off, wiggle the wires to the alternator, voltage back up and you could hear it doing its job. Went to the camp ground and found the suspect, one of them cheap a$$ connector.
Just another day of classic ownership [emoji39][emoji2957]Click image for larger version

Should have taken care of that when I installed the new alternator! Worked fine out to AZ and back!?
