Winterizing lessons on Friday, how to install heated floor on Saturday

Good job Chris congratulations!

I was seeing that on the Houston forecast!

Made it home without having to winterize!

It was mid 60's here in Tennessee, so after getting some of the stuff out of the coach, I did a complete winterizing! Will be a high of 38 tomorrow, and down in the teens this weekend!

Had a time trying to get the Roseta wiper control to work with the turn signal stick switch. Tried many times to get the unit to work, was close a couple of times, but just would not keep working!
After doing the under dash crawl way to many times, I went to the tried and proven Cole Hersee wiper control that I used on the 310.
This unit controls both wipers.

Nice!
Does it add a good intermittent feature?
Reaching forward every 60 seconds when it's misting gets old really fast in the 310

Thanks Chris & Brenda! What a great place you have and thank you for a delicious lunch! Columbia is a wonderful town with lots of southern hospitality. I'm really impressed with the work you've done on both of your coaches. Looking forward to our next visit together, and of course the Get Together in the Fall.

Onto the next project on the list!

The leveler system is spoiling me. Just raise one side and roll the propane tank right out!

A good clean up, remove the under coat that was done when she was new, prime and paint, and she will go back in!

The motorcycle lift has been real handy. Probably under the AS more than having the bike on it!

Chris, I really like Ospho primer as the first treatment after cleanup and then a solvent type red oxide primer followed by a high quality solvent Metal Paint like rustoleum.

Its very liquid form lets it get into tiny cracks and pits and stops the rust for good. Its best to apply it liberally and then wipe the access off. Puddling should be avoided, since it takes a long time to dry if puddled. A thorough dry of at least 24 hours is recommended.
It will etch your concrete, so use protection for that and your eyes and hands.

I think ospho is pretty much the same as the "metal prep" POR step

POR is perfect here since it's going to take a beating from rocks right behind the wheel, if you go that route definitely make sure to get everything perfectly clean, and let it surface rust orange again or let that ospho make a nice rough phosphorus-oxide surface for the POR to bond to. POR reacts chemically with regular rust (iron oxide) or phosphorus-oxide (made by ospho) and will bond permanently, making you very happy

If the metal is nice and clean but not rusty or oxidized, POR peels right off and you might as well use latex paint. That surprises most people.

I've personally always found rust-oleum to be soft and not really hold up, one drive on a salty road and it's like you didn't even paint. Could be I've failed to figure out the prep properly.

That is kind of my problem. The bottom of the tank and up the sides is clean metal due to the under coating protection. The very top that was not coated is rusty.
Going to try Peter's recommended procedure due to all products locally available. Thanks, didn't think non rusted metal would be a problem with POR!

Thumbs up

Got the tank all done, just a little insulation under the floor before it goes back in!
