Getting closer. She would have been running if I didn't change out the condenser. Putting in a parallel 4 pass, and new oil cooler that will be more than double the cooling of the OEM in the condenser!

Got her heart beat going yesterday!

Great local hose shop was able to get me all hooked up with the new oil cooler and parallel condenser.

Less than a month for removing, overhaul, and install, not to bad for this old man I think!!
Glad to have her back on all eight!

Got the air charged up, and ready for a test drive.
Motor run great, but now having drive line vibration? Have not done anything with the driveline after I replaced all the u-joints and carrier bearings. Was running smoothly out to Texas and back!!
Not the engine, coasting down hill in neutral having the same vibration really bad around 65!

Previous owner of the Onion had a similar experience. Relentless vibration turned out to be a bad tire or two on the tag axle.

And did you have the assembly balanced? I know you said driveline was not touched, however the connection between the engine/transmission was. Hard to imagine but things have a way working as a complete assembly. When I installed the mean green starter in the 350, I had to use triple shims to get the right flywheel to starter gear clearance. I called Mean green and the first question they asked, if the motor was a rebuilt or re manufactured. They said clearances may vary enough to throw stuff off.

Bring an assistant and take it for a drive. Have them crawl around on the floor and find the vibration’s worst point. This will help in determining cause. Mine ended up being the bearings on the overdrive trans. This lead to a tranny upgrade. Vibrations gone.

Ps. The driveline should not be affected by an engine replacement imho. You take the driveline to a shop to have it balanced. This balancing does not include the engine… although it could be the ujoint at the trans. Since this was disconnected for your engine work. Recheck the engagement. Make sure there is no debris in the socket and that the joint is balanced and moves freely and evenly.

On the road for over 5 weeks.
Vibration better with replacement of transmission mount.
Now visiting Stream3 and heading up to Niagara Falls next week.
Air is blowing at 30 degrees drop from ambient. Thanks Dean for your tips on the better parallel condenser for R134!Click image for larger version

Well she has been running like a top, but probably will put the 180 degree thermostat back in. These 95 deg days will give it a little more room.
Great time with Jerry and Paula outside of Columbus. 5 days at grand island in New York seeing Niagara Falls .
Boondock at RV museum in Elkhart, field of dreams in Diresville Iowa. A week in the family reunion in Page NE.
