1991 350 LE low fuel pressure

My 1991 TBI 454 will not start and run
I would like to replace the in tank fuel pump unit but I am unsure of the best way to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you sure it is that fuel pump? If so, I believe you either drop the tank or try and gain access by going through the floor. There are some posts on the site. Have a look through the repair/service manuals on the sticky which probably set out the procedure.

Check your fuse. Turn on key, don't start it, you should hear the pump come on. Kind of a buzzing noise. Check the ground Lead. Mine was rotted off. Check power lead, see if you got power to the pump.dropping the tank is no big deal. The fuel lines are long enough to let you access the pump, with the tank on the ground. Replace lines while your at it. Use high pressure fuel line. . Mark the lines. It's easy to confuse who goes where. I switched the vent line with the genset line. Aaahhh. DJ

I had the same problem with my 1979 Airstream, only I did not know that the fuel tank had a fuel pump inside. Kept on adding external pump and changing the engine driven pump. When we took the tank out to clean it, we discovered the 40 year old fuel pump inside. I suggest you remove the tank and clean it (mine needed cleaning very badly), remove the in tank fuel
pump, and add an external high volume electric pump at the rear of the coach. Since I did that, I have had no more fuel problems.

I'd say there's a 99% change that what you experienced with your 79 was due to a PO installing the pump inside the tank. To the best of my knowledge up until possibly the late 80s or early 90s no Airstream or Argosy came with an in-tank fuel pump.

Do you happen to have photos of this in-tank pump and tank?
