I was going to build a new exhaust system with the Doug & Thorley double Y headers but they seem to be out of stock everywhere. I may have to reinstall the manifold with a new gasket and postpone that project.

Yep, that’s the plan for now. That and plugging the air injection ports.

Parts are starting to arrive. I wanted to go without the gasket as per the manual to prevent warpage and allow better heat transfer but the surface on the head is not clean enough I think.

This Mr. Gasket 7158 is made of copper to allow for heat transfer while optimizing heat transfer as well. It has some spring lock washers so I suppose the instructions will have a lower torque value.
