1986 345LE Chassis VIN verification

New title for this unit in California requires visual inspection for two matching chassis VINs. Found one under the hood next to the Airstream VIN. No DOT plaques on the outside of the coach and no stickers in cabinets on the inside. Looking for a second chassis VIN that will match the chassis VIN under the hood. Help?

Do you have a set of Metal Stamps?

Check out this Northern Tool & Supply offering:

Letters A-Z, ampersand (&), plus numerals 0-8 (use 6 for 9). Storage case, 36 Character Metal Stamp Set — 3/16in.

I have cleaned, painted, and inspected just about every square inch of my '87 345 chassis and body - I have not discovered any replication of the GM VIN.

Chalk up another idiot requirement for the great independent country of California.

Oh, yeah, welcome to the Forums.

Mark,
Welcome to the forums. I think Dennis is right, there is only the one under the hood. Have you tried contacting Airstream in Jackson Center for more information? I've only ever found the one on my 86 345.

By the way: On my 350, the Chevy chassis number indicates 1990, while the Airstream # indicates 1991. If you put numbers on your coach, make sure they match the Chevy number and not the Airstream.
