Keyair I have a solenoid fastened to the top of the Hydraulic Pump for the levelers. It is fastened to a strap that is around the pump/tank assembly. This assembly is located in the front of the Motorhome between the bumper and the radiator. Is that the same solenoid that is located on your firewall. If that is the case you could move it to the pump location and add an isolator.

I will take some pics today and confirm my setup.

If the little jumper is #6 or possibly #8 it should be ok.

What is the charging rate of your DC converter?

I'm 95% certain my old 310 has the same size wire as well.

If I was a betting man I would bet it's the original switch installed by Airstream used to energize the solenoid that ties the starting and coach batteries together. I think you mentioned you had a switch mounted elsewhere that does the same thing. More than likely some PO installed the other switch an relocated the wires from the original switch in the glove box to the new switch.

All the way with Brad on this one. My 345 had that toggle switch in the glove box

My 310 is ignition switch driven, just like Steve's front solenoid for the levelers

Hey guys! Its been a while since I've been on here but I was about to post myself and I came across this. I just bought a 1987 290 with a custom Kendon trailer. I bought a smart car as well! Its the ideal combo for me. If I can figure out how to post a pic I will. The trailer is easy to move around by hand and the smart car is less than 2,000 pounds. Not the V8 like my other vehicles but it does the job.

Had Honeydo list to finish, but I am off to kick butt on my 345... unless the forecasted rain arrives early!

Fingers crossed!

You let your Hondydo list interfere with working on your motorhome?

Bummer

So, today was a mostly good day!
Things in the mailbox...
This little book...

And my LED Clearance lights!!

Went to storage...
Reinstalled the House Batteries...
Managed to get the last plug out of the pass side exhaust manifold with pentrating fluid, heat and a nut easyout thingy...
Looked like this..

Reinstalled the Air Injection pipes into the exhaust manifolds.... but they hit the structure... so ended up swapping sides... put what they said was left, onto right... now its good, but they face backwards, so I need longer rubber pipes. No problemo...

Replaced the rubber pipes at the Mechanical fuel pump...
Zip tied my newly rerouted power cables to be safe for now...
Put the Holley Fuel Pressure regulator on...

Took this pic of my glovebox switch and fuseblock... for fun.

Took this pic of my momentary switch next to the ignition switch...
What was in that hole to the left???

Crossed my fingers, turned on my battery isolators....
I have house lights!
Put the key in the ignition...
And the engine cranks!
The rear compressor is running..
But no start...
No fuel pressure.

I did press the emergency start button, and I confirm, that the drivers firewall solenoid clicks...

Its was raining... So I just sat in the drivers seat, and enjoyed the moment!
What IS it about being in an Airstream when its raining????

That moment passed, and I checked the rear fuel pump was running, which it was.
Pulled the feed line from the tank, and no fuel.
After a couple of checks, I think I pinched the main fuel line when I pulled up the tank.
Tomorrow will tell!

I am amazed you got those plugs out in 1 piece. Whenever I tried that I found them to be rust and heat welded.
Were the air injectors made for the stock manifold versus headers. Stock manifold is so much thicker in that location.
Sounds like you had a good day, other than the pinched fuel line. Hopefully all you need to do is lower the tank a bit to free the line, instead of completely dropping it.

Ouch, that must have given you a sinking feeling inside. How much fuel do you have in the tank? Also do you remember how far the fuel pick up was from the bottom of the tank?
