Steve, Where did you get the fan from?
Both of mine were not working. I traced a drain on the battery to one which was red hot all the time. I have cut and wires to both now. Mine were blocked up with some weird cocoons incased in mud! I have found loads underneath so far. All dead thankfully.
Someone offered me two but I cant remember who.
I might take them if the work and are cheaper than new.

That one is on the roof of the shower stall Paula, but there is an identical one in every sense... and I mean seized as well in the toilet too.

I found these fans on Ebay... and I think I got 2 for $20....
They work well, but not sure if they are better or worse than the originals as I had no way to compare. The modded bracket for the motor was easy, but the fan was too large so I had cut the blades shorter.

FYI...
I could not find the fan I got, but I did find what looks like the OEM fan assembly on VTS's site...

Maybe Inland has them too, but could not find it.

Started working on the front bodyside Badges...
Experiment time!

Stripped the scuzzy black paint off..

Thried to polish the raised surface, but as it is a casting, it was not working well...

Hit it with a coat of Latex aluminum primer..

The Gloss Black test...

Tried the 345 badge with a brushed finish...

I think I am going with a brushed finish and a Satin Black contrast

Ok, inline with my plan to do SOMETHING EVERY DAYto push the MH forward... Lest Mike get on my case..

Badge fever!
Satin Black rustoleum exterior paint, then sand the bright with 220 to get the brushed finish.
Better than before!

Also did the remaining rear AIRSTREAM Letters... satin black and sanded a brush finish on...

Just for fun...

LOL, I actually had a guy pull up in his SOB Motorhome and moan about my Airstream(Tongue-in-cheek). He said everytime he came to pick up his rig and turned the corner it blinded him...
I replied with a grin, "Well, drive down the other row!"
He replied that he would... but his Wife insists that they drive by everytime to see the progress!
Upon chatting to him and his wife, telling them the story and giving them a Tour inside and out.... she asked me what I paid for it... when I told her... she turned and fixed him with the evil eye....
His last words were.. "Oh thanks... I am NEVER going to hear the end of THIS!"
Not seen him since the storage moved... I bet he found one 20 miles away... if he was wise!

She sure is pretty though......be careful people can't tell what it is on the street.....as they are seeing a reflection.....makes you vulnerable for someone who is not paying attention.....paula

Alrighty then.....

Actually got up on the roof and walked about... albut very carefully!
I can confirm that even a fatty like me @230lb can walk on the right places and cause no damage...

I felt like Kung-Fu, walking on the Rice paper... except with none of the skill or delicacy!

Another important thing I learned yesterday....
Wear Gloves and Long pants if you are up there in the sunshine.... the skin surface was burning my hands and knees!

So, I was up there because my bedroom roof fan broke or something...
I opened it using the handwheel... and when I went to close it, it kinda jittered and then slammed shut, and now will not respond to the wheel inside.
I went up and looked at it but my knees were burning too much, so I gave up on it for now!
Ideas?

Anyway, I had the chance to have a good look around up there...
And of course add to my To Do list!

I did spot some holes in the sealant around the rear awning leg upper mounting, that just happens to be DIRECTLY above a leak I have in the passenger side closet!

I am planning to paint the roof white, so will need to reseal and repair everything up there before I do that...

I took off both shower and toilet roof vent tops... They were chromed plastic.... But the chrome is peeling and ugly.
I brought them home for my next benchtop project, and will strip and paint them White I think. I will also replace the foam seals underneath that are toast.
Oh, here is a pic of the vent top and the new shower side fan in place..

Also had a good look at the remnants of the old TV antenna...
I have a new one waiting to go on, but had never seen what was left before...

Another Bench project I have at home is the ABS Step..
mine is cracked, and needs some TLC.

Bench work...

Peeled the remaining Chrome off one of the Vent caps..
Kinda before and after shot..
Still working on the corners... tricky!

After I took this shot I stripped the LH one to the same level... but those corners on the mounting holes are stubborn!

Onto the step...

It is split at the back grip, and has a puncture hole in the middle too...

Looks like someone tried to repair the underside with Resin and Fiberglass...

Stripped that off, and got to work with the MEK slurry to get the split and hole fixed.
The rear grip is split right across as you might be able to see in the pic as I flex open the gap.

I applied tape to the visible surface and filled from the back...
This will take a few hours to harden.

Next I gotta figure out if there should be some wood or a flooring plate beneath this liner... Something tells me there should be...
Can anyone post some pics of how theirs looks?
