Installed a new style ISSPRO SU-SU15-90 sending unit that has the internal float recommended by my diesel mechanic. The old ISSPRO with the float/rod was making contact sporadically. Now to mount the tank after cleaning and undercoating the frame and metal work and try to get enough diesel to put in the tank. Glad that is over.

Congrats for figuring it out and completing such a big job. At least you know it was done right!

Stripping Clearcoat

I finally lost my mind and stripped my 31' Classic over the past four days temp and rain permitting. Got tired of looking at the clearcoat that had faded on the upper sides. Citri-Strip and blue pads did a good job. Still have some cloudy spots that seem to polish out. It looks a lot better than the faded sides and delaminating woodgrain. It just needs a good bath now.

That’s pretty cool, I like the rear bedroom idea, might consider it myself for the 370LE. Did you purchase the windows from Airstream?

How did you change it to a queen? I'm assuming you turned the bed 90 degrees (and also turned the fresh water tank underneath).

Also, with a queen going side to side, you really don't have any room to get out of the bed at night if you sleeping all the way in the back. I'm considering going with a queen width, but making the bed slightly shorter so it leaves some space to get out.

I tore out the old frame and built a wood frame and raised it up a couple inches with access lids for the fresh water tank, water pump and the 50 amp service access with a couple doors in the front for storage. My original bed had little room at the end and since my wife gets up more at night than me so we put the queen in. I was able to add a little more sound deadener over the generator housing after raising the frame. She is pleased so all is ok.
