My original 1991 classic dinette was attached to the floor with small screws and there were no seatbelts. In simple terms, it isn't safe for children. I eventually replaced the dinette with some coach seats like these. http://www.cogentseating.co.uk/mk_2.html
You can get them with integrated seatbelts, depending on your requirements. Some recline. My seats were then bolted through the floor. The coachbuilders who did the work installed metal plates approx 100mm by 100mm from memory underneath each fixing points. I believe that met the regs over here in the UK. We had the coach seats and settee and front seats all upholstered in some moquette which is very hard wearing wool used on trains etc. There are some nice patterns available.

Given the Corona lockdown in the UK, I’m having a biblical clear out and tidy up. I came across an unfinished Motorhome project. The bag is probably ten years old. It contained the flock channel and also the furry insert which goes between the windows. However, it also contained this fella - anyone any ideas? It looks like a Schlegel channel replacement. It probably all came from Out of Doors mart over ten years ago. Any ideas?

Here are some pictures of said item. Any idea?? It looks like some kind of replacement for the channel. It’s made of clear flexible plastic. There are no drain holes.

Well after about four hours of crawling under the 310 and inside the dash it appears the Aux heater never was hooked up, found two wires orange and red coming from the heater fan then a white and yellow spliced into them through the floor board next to the firewall then the two wires have two wires soldered together to each one. Blue wire soldered to the white wire that's ran to the low fan speed and the white ran to hot side of the switch and the red wire soldered to the yellow wire with the yellow wire laying on the dash wires and red ran to high fan speed. Fan switch had no power supply. Simply amazing. Will build a new harness to connect switch to the low and high side of fan and find a positive feed for the power source. Attached a pic of the wiring mess for a good laugh.

To funny.....looks like a factory Airstream zip tie but not assembly line solder. I don’t believe that they solder anything on the assembly line, however a definitely piss poor repair, probably done in the service center either under warranty or before it left after it was manufactured. I believe in Jackson Center you either squeeze tit for a living (dairy farmer) or you work for Airstream. Kinda makes you wonder.....Regards, Bob

Parts needed

Still searching again for the ash tray for the D/S front seat panel and a door bell that is working. Hoping someone has one of these they don't need. I will be grateful for any help. Pic's attached of what's left of my door bell and the opening for the ash tray.

Can't help you with the astray, if it was me, I would take some oak and make a cup holder mounted over the hole, or maybe just an oak cover, but we are not smokers!

If you look at your door bell, its original a battery, 4D cell. Don't remember where I got my replacement, but think it was Lowes?! I used the green coil you see at the top and the fuse holder and used them in the new unit. If I get a chance, will take a look at mine to see if I can get more info for you.

This one works. Just jump the front and rear terminal for the ding/dong. Positive runs via fuse (from your old bell) to Button to center terminal

Ashtray opening could be great place to add some modern USB/voltage meters, switches etc.
PO butchered a hole for a CB I had to cover.
I luckily already had three different power sources in that space:

1. Instrument light (it lit up the cigarette lighter socket). It lights up the switches now when headlight go on
2. Motor battery power "always on"

3. Coach battery power "always on"

I added a 4th circuit , Ign on + for the wiper washer and relay for Brake controller

Door Bell

PeterH-Airstreamer, Got my doorbell out to install this morning that I ordered from the site you sent me and noticed mine did not have a fuse block and was wondering if you installed one or did they ship the wrong one. I have attached a pic of the bell and my wiring one purple and three white which is different than yours as usual with Airstream.

Reuse fuse holder from the old doorbell by screwing into the black plastic (see my picture).
1. confirm that the fat black wire is 12+, if so connect it to 1 side of the fuse holder (if fat white is 12+ use it)
2. connect either of the thin wires to the center doorbell terminal (marked trans)
3. Connect negative fat white (assumed) wire to terminal marked rear and make a jumper wire to terminal marked front (see my picture)
4. Last step is to connect the second thin wire to the other side of the fuse.

If fuse blows, you have a problem with the push button and may need to replace it.

I you installed the small jumper wire, both chimes should work. I had to go through 2 units to get it to work. First one did Ding only.

I now have my door bell ringing the aux heater rebuilt and hooked up, waiting on the heater core to be recored and get installed and that project will be done. Talked to a fellow Forums member about removing the dash cover and he explained how to go about it and within one hour my daughter and I had the dash cover laying on the table. Got the duct all replaced and touched up some areas with paint. Was wondering if anyone knows what the red wad of wires that's sticking up goes to that is in one of my pics. Found them laying against the dash pad. Also what is the deal with the duct hose running over to the D/S and turning down toward the floor. Found all kinds of goodies that critters had stored.

Red wires might be wiper control module. Is there one under the dash?
