Red face Windshield wipers

I have a 74 Argosy 24 motorhome. The wiper blades are the originals, probably. Im trying to replace but just get a head shake at the local auto parts.

Does anyone know what wiper blades will fit, or does the whole wiper thing need to be switched out?

Is there a thread for asking these types of questions? Thanks in advance.

They are listing wiper blades for Airstream motorhome, check their website out!
https://ancowipers.com/amfinder/?fin...am-all-3148879

I bought the wiper blade several years ago they don't list the same parts on the website now. but "57-10" seems like similar except its color.

When my motorhome needed new blades the mega dealer quoted $104 for new blades! So I took one blade to the local auto parts store and matched just the rubber.
I bought two blades for $20 and removed the rubber from them and placed it back in the OEM blades.
It's not difficult, you squeeze the end and it slides right out.

Go to the auto parts store and find someone old. Tell them you need wiper blade refills (not new wipers). They will know what that means.

70's Argosy wipers don't have the new style universal blade mounts. The blade is screwed to the arm (and if yours is like mine, permanently fused with nearly 50 years of corrosion).

I had three different (younger) guys try to figure it out, and the old guy asked me one question, went in the back for two minutes, and came back with the solution. A "refill" is just the strip of rubber that wipes away the rain.

I needed to trim the refill (too long) and the original metal strips and clips (already on the vehicle) that hold the rubber in the blade worked much better than the new clips that came with the refill, so try to keep the strips and clips that are already there.

Alternatively you could replace the entire arm so that you can buy the universal (new style) blades going forward, but I paid $14 for two refills at Napa, so it's not like it's harder or more expensive to keep using refills.
