Assuming you have an Onan generator you'll probably find they shake all over the place on start up and shut down. I installed new OEM isolators on my Onan and it still shakes like crazy on startup and shutdown but is as smooth as silk while running.

Now that the vacations and holidays are out of the way I had a couple days to start carpeting the cockpit. Starting to look a lot better. Click image for larger version

Can you share any details on the carpet you are using and fitting technique (attachment and underlay)?

In the UK (where van conversions are very common) there is a special type of stretch carpet widely available for lining walls/ceiling but not often used on the floor (it is too lightweight), but I am trying to match a more robust short pile 'floor carpet' for the cab area and what you have looks perfect.

I've used a thermal jute padding called Thermozite on other vehicles manufactured by Foss Manufacturing. I found a carpet they manufactured labeled as indoor/outdoor & sold by Home Depot. It is a low profile unbacked needle punch carpet called Traffic Master Elevations
Pricing per sq yard was a lot less expensive than "automotive" carpet and as I'm trying to keep costs down on this project I figured I'd give it a shot.

The jute padding is held down with a combination of staples and glue.
Carpet is again held down with a combination of staples and glue. I used staples in areas that are hidden around the perimeter, and had to use glue mostly on the drivers side near the steering column and pedals.
3M 90 spray adhesive is what i use for gluing the carpet & insulation.

Overall I'm impressed with the looks and ease of installation. One downside I came across with low profile carpet was making the seams nice on the doghouse cover. It took some time to make the cuts just right for a nice looking job.

Thanks for the lead.

For non-footfall areas the 4-way stretch carper works really well. For Peanut I am going to use it on the walls below the windows, and around the dash/doghouse. Have a look at it being installed on this van conversion for example.

A bit more progress. Cockpit completed and flooring mostly installed. I also pulled it out of the backyard for some sunlight and getting tires installed in a couple days. It’s getting real close for a trial short camping trip.
Also while at the RV show in Tampa today Onan had a display of their generators over the years and they fired up an old BFA for me, it rattled and sounded about as good as mine so I think I’m good to go in that department also. Click image for larger version

The old Onan's aren't the quietest generators around but they are quieter than pretty much all of the cheap junk you can buy now.

Nice looking floor

Thought I’d share some final photos. We’ve been on a handful of trips and this ol girl always puts a smile on my face.
