My Argosy now sports a shiny new door!

The original door my 74 Argosy 20' was so bad there was a 1" gap from the door handle down to the bottom of the door where someone had pried the door open. It was a mess.

Well here is a picture of the Argosy with a shiny (well maybe a little shiny!) new door from our 310. The 310 door was replaced with the door from the 345 that I've been dismantling.

There was only one difference in fit from the 310 to the Argosy. The distance between the two hinges was about 1/4" diffference between the two. The Argosy mounting holes were farther apart. Took me several tries to get it right but the fit is nice and tight.

At least now I don't have to worry about mice getting in through the door. Now they have to get more creative on how to get in, which I'm sure they will be

Looks great. So are you going to paint the door or shine the rest

Aaaa...Yes

Considering the condition of the existing paint it would probably take the same amount of effort either way. I'd like to polish it but that decision will not be made for quite a while yet.

Dang. I thought I had all of the categories covered! I guess I could start a Frankenstein section.

I vote for painting it. The galvanized caps never come out to match the rest of the unit and they look odd.

Fred,

It never hurts to add another catagory!

I've never named a vehicle before but I just might have to start calling this one Argostream after all After all, along with the 345 door it will likely end up with a few other odds and ends salvaged from the 345 so Argostream seems appropriate

I don't know that I have seen any pictures of a polished Argosy with silver painted caps. I wonder what it would look like being totally painted in silver? I know some people have trailers that are finished that way. Soldermedic had one at one time.

Then again I could always salvage the end caps off of the 345 to replace the galvanized ones with. Now wouldn't that blow peoples minds...

Well, the little Argosy motorhome took another step towards being a full blown Airstream motorhome...

When we got the Argosy the fridge access hatch was a piece of plywood. A while back I won an auction for correct hatch on eBay and finally had a chance to install it.

This is the second part from the 345 that has been placed on the Argosy and the awning from the 345 is likely going to be the next. Transformation into the Argostream is proceeding as planned
