House Batteries Argosy

Can anyone tell me about the house batteries on a 77 Argosy MH 28ft.

How many batteries total should there be on the vehicle, including the engine starting battery?

Where are the batteries located?

Specific type of battery?

I'm only able to locate one battery, outside of the vehicle in the battery lock box on the drivers side of the vehicle.

It's used as my starting battery. Shouldn't there be house batteries located somewhere on the vehicle?

Interior lights, generator, appliances?

Thanks

There should be two batteries in the box, accessed from outside, but actually located under the drivers seat.

Take a look at the Peanut thread to see what that box should look like.

1977 Argosy Batteries

There should be two 78 Side Terminal Batteries in the externally accessible box on the driver's side. I think that all of the 1977's were the same. The attached photo is of a 20 and I know that the 24's were the same. The battery on the left is for the engine and the one on the right is for the coach. The engine battery has big heavy cables attached while the coach battery has smaller lighter cables attached. The positive cables for both batteries go the coach fuse box where there is a large relay (looks like a starter solenoid) that parallels the two batteries when the engine is running. From the factory those two batteries were the only ones installed. Those two batteries in the photo came from Walmart.
