Fuel capacity

Hi All,

New to forum. Looking at purchasing a 20' or 24' MH. Wondering on the fuel tank capacity for this size units. Tried a search but came up empty.

TIA,

Dan

Welcome!

Hi DanN, Not sure what years your looking for but take a look here. Airstream, Inc :: Specs - 1970.

Looks like most tanks were 50 GAL.

Welcome to the Forums.

From my manual, it shows the standard 24 gallon tank in the 20 and 24ft. In the 24 ft. there was a 50 gallon option which was the standard tank of the 28 footer. Trying to put a 50 gal. tank in the 20 foot model is problematic. Hope this helps.

Our 1974 20' Argosy MH has about a 24 gallon tank located on the right side just behind the entry door. It also has an auxiliary tank located in the back behind the rear axle. This one is obviously not a Chevrolet installed unit as its made from plate steel. I'm not sure if Airstream installed it or if some former owner did. It does have a switching valve which allows us to switch tanks easily.

Brad

go to the classic motorhome section here, click on thread named: size, propane tank in a 1989 345 then scroll down to post # 7 and you'll find a *tank size page* that another member here posted that has various models tank sizes. ( there's probably an easier way to get this chart but I know this way will work)
