I have a very noisy heater blower motor sounds like the bushings are loose it vibrates the dash when I run it. Dose anybody know how to remove one from the dash. Do I have to remove the entire dash to get to the blower.

Is there a manual that would cover the re & re of the heater motor on the 1975 P30 Chassis

If it is the same as an '86 345, it is an easy job.
There is a carpeted vertical panel in front of the passenger seating area. Below the padded dash. Remove it and the heater/AC unit is behind the panel.
There should be a large black metal "box" which is the heater/AC unit. Remove the cover of the box, and you will see the blower motor, fans, heater coil, and AC condenser.
From here the motor with the dual fans are easy to remove. When I had mine out I discovered that I had a small heater core leak, so I had a little more work to do to remove it and have it resealed.

Hmm, might open the hood and take a look, ours is in plain sight on the left hand side.

I'm with Rob, ours is behind the passenger kick panel. Just pull the panel and everything is right there.

I have the top off the dash and that panel out but I could not fiquer out how to remove the black panel.There is 2 small holes in it and I can see the end of the blowers. I will have another look in the daylight tomorrow and take a picture.

go to "replacing blower motor for dash ac". They have some good photos on how to find the blower and how to get it out. I had mine repaired and it still squeals. Them I found this site on the forum.

mine seems to be a bit different.It looks like the top alum piece has to come off and it has to be accessed from the top

Here is the top it looks like someone has been in there at one time.I can't see another way to get in to the motors. There is no door in the front of mine???

Before you go much further you might want spraying some WD-40 to the fan intake. Sounds like a problem I've had before. Seems like I've had to repeat that about every year and a half, for the last eight years.

So far it's worked for me.

Well I finally have the heater,AC blowers out. And one of the blower wheels not running true i.e. it has a lot of run out and that is causing the vibrations. I am going to take it apart and see if I can true it up.If I can't I will be on the hunt for a new one or a good used one.

How to remove a blower housing from a 1975 26ft Argosy.

1 Remove the top plastic dash cover be very careful it is old and brittle.

2 Remove the plastic trim panel on the pass side below dash.

3 Drill out all of the rivets on the alum plate that is below the plastic dash and remove, In my case someone had been in there and cut this plate in half at the center of the windshield.this plate is off you will have access to the top of the blower housing. There are about 10 screws that hold the plastic duct on top of the housing. Once that is off you will see the blowers there are a couple more screws where the front trim panel was then it can be removed.

I have likely missed something it is pretty self explanatory when you get in there. I have included a couple of pics to help a bit.

I don't know when the change was to make this a lot easier I just purchased it a month ago so I am still learning if anybody has anything to add please do.

WOW john, didnt know you dug in that deep! I had my rooftop blower motor go bad. I went to our local electric motor shop and the found me a replacement unit. there's a million sizes and shapes of those motors so a good shop should be able to source something with the same specs

I fixed the blower fan today it had been bent somehow it runs true now so it doesn't vibrate know. I also found a mouse nest when I pulled everything apart I now know where the smell was coming from it was 12 inches long and 6 inches deep right on top of the heater box.

This all started with a leak in the drivers side window that was leaking between the alum side panel and the trim panel. And saturating the plywood below the drivers seat I have replaced the plywood and I am going to put a drain tube in the window frame to drain the water to the outside.The drain hole was drilled to close to the edge of the frame and any water would drip between the 2 inside panels and seep under the carpet unnoticed and keep the plywood wet forever
