I have been working on making the subfloors. And playing with other tasks some times, because I still have lots of to do things. I can choose many options yet!

I'm not going to use any equipments powered by propane gas, that including a furnace as well. So I don't need these stuffs. Probably it's assembled by two pieces, but it seemed like hard to disassemble due to rusted and sticked...

So I decided to cut it off!

Then stripped painting with paint remover.

My Argosy is a thick make-up, I need to apply paint remover then scrape it by several times at the same area.

I polished the body a little bit. I'm going to polish the body more and more! When it got a shiny surface, my face dull accordingly.

Thank you! I need to keep the energy by some beverages like Red Bull!

Yep! That's like a nightmare.. But we can find that marks under paint easily in an Argosy!
I always delete it with hard abrasives and an angle grinder. I hope the body won't worn out by grinding!

Here is my weapons for the first step of polishing.
I use an angle sander with a sisal disc (The top left in the picture). The sisal disc is made from sias hemp, it's harder than cotton or felt buffing discs. And I use an abrasive that is called "Sisar". The brown color bars in the picture are the Sisar and a tripoli abrasives. Those are look similar but they have different material. The Sisar is an oil based alumina abrasive and the tripoli is an oil based cilica one.

The Sisar is coarser than the tripoli, so I usually use this for the first step.

The Sisar can delete the mark unless a deep wound.

But it cannot remove deep scratches or corrosion marks. There are many corrosion marks near rub rails.

Next, this is very famous, popular and inexpensive metal abrasive in Japan. It's a liite bit coarse grid (3μ) one.

Umm... The mark is left a little bit, so this is not parfect mirror finishing. Anyway, I cannot spend lots of time polishing, and there are left surface that needs to polish on the body, I'm satisfied it at the moment.

I'm going to do the same process at rear of the rig tomorrow!

If I need to delete the marks compleatly, I think sanding pads or papers will work better.

I've used a sanding pad that is like a Scotch Brite before. It was able to cut the marks, but not parfectly. I should have used coarser one. In fact, the marks are tough to beat!

The first work in 2022 was installing a front fender trim.

The fender trim will be fixed with bolts and nuts, so I make holes on it and a body.

The first, marking an out line of the fender trim on the body. The body was not trimed evenly, I measured the distance between the outline and the trimming line, then wrote numbers in metric.

Next, chose the points there're enough space for making the holes, then drilled eleven of 3mm holes.

I'm going to install an outer fender trim. Unfortunately it has damage, needs repairing.
However, I cannot repair smashed aluminum perfectly. Probably I'll use body filler for forming the outer fender.

Repair the trim as best you can and move on. Those are called "battle scars" and can be considered a badge of honor

"Battle scars" sounds nice! That's cool.
However, that trim is bent and ripped, it looks pitiful..
I'm going to restore its shape with pliers as far as possible. And use body filler or FRP for forming, then paint it. I'm not sure, still thinking about it, though.
