I've been polishing the body in my spare time. I'm getting bored of this task. So I got into the coach today, because there are lots of things to do yet!

I packed 25mm (1") insulation boards and laid heat insulation sheet under the floor. This is nothing special to do. Anyway, the under floor insulation work has done.

We got the floor. It's very comfortable walking around in the coach now!

The middle area of the coach got a subfloor. I'm going to tackle the driver's and passenger's floor soon.

I applied caulking for wheel wells where was welded by me, because I can't trust my welding skill.

I made wheel wells by steel sheet in the past. But I don't like to contact steel surface and alminium suarface so I dicided to redo it.

I'm going to attach mud flaps under silver plates. It's intended to protect the gap between the wheel well and frame from water splash.

It's time for trimming the aluminum panel. The existing cutout seems like over size, some holes are lacking and missing.

The fender trim depth is about 19mm.

Yuki, that is an interesting upgrade in the wheel wells. I've considered doing something like that but so far have not actually done anything. My big concern was road debris getting caught up above.

It will however eliminate the pounding that the panel takes normally. My Argosy was rusted badly in that area and I had to rebuild the 1"x2" framework and replace the steel cover plate.

How good or bad are the roads in Japans?

Mine was rusted as well. Also the subfloor was rotted due to came water splash from gaps. That's the reason why I made new frames and panels for the wheel wells. And, there was an electrical junction box in there. I cannot understand why the builder put that in the location where can be wet.

This mudflap is intended for the protection from splash and road debris, but it is not covering around the whole tire, so above of the tire area might be pounded by them. If it happens too much, I will add extra mudflap.
I'm going to paint an underbody coating spray (it's like a Noxudol) to the wheel well and attach a mudflap in front of the tire too.

Most roads are paved, there are not bad condition. Of course we have gravel roads over here, however there are usually narrow width so the Argosy cannot go through this kind of roads!

I love the way you rebuilt your rear wheel wells. Man, that's a lot of work but, you should never have water infiltration again. Keep up the good work , it looks awesome!

Actually, I'm very sensitive about rotting due to splash water. I'm going to apply ton of sealant to everywhere the gaps or the junctions.

I've been remaking a generator compartment cover recently. The original one was rusted, and an aluminum skin where was contacted the original compartment cover was rusted too. I think that is due to galvanic corrosion, I'm not sure. Anyway I don't like contacting a steel metal stuff with the aluminum skin.

Actually, I haven't decided what I'm going to store in this compartment box. It might be a portable generator, a split type air conditioner...

The compartment and cover look really good. I made mine out of steel as well. My compartment originally had two layers. The inside was a steel box and then insulation was laid over it and an aluminum box was built to cover everything. I will likely use some sort of insulation but I don't know about installing an aluminum cover.

My compartment didn't have an aluminum box and insulation, there was just rusty coating on the steel surface. I'm going to lay insulation sheets and probably sound-deadening sheets if I install a generator in the compartment.

Alcohol? That's a good idea! I might install a beer barrel to the compartment. There is a fuel tank at the opposite side, then this side will be a fuel tank for the driver! However, driver's fuel economy is more costlier than the V8's, even if world oil prices increase more than now.

I think it would have been easier for me if I had just hired you work on my Argosy

I'm honored to hear that. However, I need so much time for all the tasks, so I am something like an inefficient worker.

I'm looking forward to that too. The motor and transmission are sleeping in my garage for a long time and taking up big space. To tell the truth, I really want to put it away immediately!

My toys are Mercedes T1 van and Honda CBX.

The van was abandoned outside for a while, so the body and chassis were rusted and rotted. I have been repairing that.
I haven't tried starting the motor yet, so I'm not sure it is alive or not.. I hope it will run.

In my life, that Mercedes van would not qualify as a toy! My father would say “you are a glutton for punishment”. Hopefully the Honda isn’t just a pretty toy. Hope you have places to ride without lots of traffic. Over here motorcycles can be quite dangerous in city traffic.
