1978 Argosy Steering Gear Leak

Fluid is leaking from the top of my steering gear, where the steering wheel shaft enters. I went to NAPA to see if there was a seal kit for this vintage P-30 vehicle, but the steering gear that shows up on their computer for a '78 P-30 doesn't look anything like what I have. Can somebody tell me what sort of steering gear I have, so I can search for a seal kit? (I've seen photos on this forum of the same steering gear that I have, so I'm pretty sure it's original.)

Thanks in advance (This is my first post!)

I have the same problem. '76 model. O'Riley Auto Parts # is 7857 for a rebuild kit.

After you take the entire front off the coach you can access the 4 bolts needed to remove the power steering.. SUCKS!!!!

For future reference, the chassis is not a p30 but a p32 motorhome chassis, they are slightly different. Plus, not every part on a p32 is the same for every model. When you find what fits your coach, make sure you document it for future use.

P30 - p32

FYI,
I can always find P30 at Autozone, NAPA, etc. P32 and/or P32 MH does not show up in their list of available vehicles to search for. They will usually have a "Motorhome" version of the part in question or a large tonnage version.

76 Argosy is a Chevy P30 chassis.

Power steering can be a few things.
Autozone part is # 7518 for the gears. (MH type)

O'Riley sell the same part for around $130ish. Both are re manufactured and are poor quality overall.
