1976 Argosy radiator

My rad blew a leak while initiating pre-trip check up. I'm thinking I'd buy a new one and then find a large truck mechanic to replace.(as opposed to getting this one soldered and recored)

Has anybody dealt with radiator replacement, recore etc.? I am in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and typically purchase had to find old car parts at O.Reillys in Detroit.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recently had mine done. I had to have radiator shop re-core the existing one. I have a 454 engine.

Thanks Frank,

I figured a re-core would be the way to go. At the shop today!

Ive got to replace my AC condenser this winter. Since I am taking that whole assembly apart I figured that I would replace/recore my radiator. What was the approximate cost on the recore?

Mpro,

Cost for 4-row core core was $436.oo CDN, labour was $220.00(@$88.00 per hour), total on the procedure was $1600.00 and I feel a little hosed by the situation, but I had to get it done.

Prices on parts are between 30 to 60% higher here so I think you can do better with some shopping for the core and at rusted mechanic.

I have not had a major repair since I purchased 5 years ago so I have no. Problems with the $$.

Btw: love to see some pics of your Argo

I think that is about 4 times what it would cost in the states.
