Gotta say those endcap dents came out way better than I expected from the pics. now you need to decide what you can live with, are they beauty marks or will they annoy you forever . From the look of things that is about a 5000 dollar question. For specific aluminum working questions and tips Kip ( Aerowood ) is the resident guru.
Keep up the good work, and the good attitude

Today, more pounding of the end caps with a rubber mallet. Piece of junk mallet actually split in half! $4 at home depot. Almost done removing inside skins. I think for now I will keep the "beauty marks". I am finishing school and have a baby on the way very very soon! I need to spend my money on a few other things right now. I am focusing in the free part of this project right now.
While I was popping out some of the dents, a few rivet popped out as well and separated a two end cap panels. I know I need to re-rivet them but what should I seal it with to make it water proof?
Thanks

When you remove interior walls, try to save the aluminum channel that holds the wall to the inside of the Airstream. They are a lot easier to re-use than to fabricate or replace.
As a matter of fact, if you save nothing else of the interior, save all the aluminum extrusions. The can come in handy.

Seal it from the inside with anything you have, whatever you do don't use silicone on other caulking on the outside, unless you want to spend countless hours getting it off later:-) good progress so far!

RSantiago, I gotta admit, you are gutsy to take on this project, even though it's "free". Keep up the pictures ad progress.

A good body man with the right hammers and a dolly on the other side could do wonders if the metal is not stretching too much by now with the sharper bends and creases.. Don't know how well it would work to heat and shrink like one can do with steel.. Never hammered on alum, much..
Hats off to you for the effort to date.. Just don't beat yourself up and try to do too much without looking ahead with a plan.. After all you have yourself to take care of and the family.. I learned that lesson of life about 20 years too late..

Thanks for all of the encouragement and advice. Progress will probably slow down in about 3 weeks. My wife and I are both graduating from grad school in May, moving about 45 minutes south of Nashville into a house that will require some work, baby is due in June, and I have to take my board exams in July. A lot going on but I am thankful for my opportunities. Needless to say the airstream will have to be put on hold for a while. I am just doing as much as I can, while I have the time.

If you decide to part it out and your entry door is in good shape I will offer to buy it. That is one option if the trailer is too damaged and you don't want to put the effort into trying to fix it is just to sell parts of the trailer to recoup some of your time and effort

Seal with TremPro: TremPro 635
Or Parbond: Parbond
Or gutter seal: Alcoa Gutterseal
I like TremPro for most of the work, but have grown fond of using the aluminum gutter seal ( Alcoa Gutterseal) for new rivets and applying patches (between the lap seals).
If you don't want to put tons of money into it to restore it you could always make a nice detached office with it. Simple open space, paint, heat and AC and you have a nice space to call your own...
