What type of beds/couches do you have in your 70 Overlander?
I hate to convert the bed every time I want to sleep, so I was thinking of taking the space from the bathroom and eliminating the shower/tub in order to knock out the wall and put in a queen sized bed?
we took the couch apart and extended or moved the nylon stops on ours so we could force it to extend another 8" so it's stops right before the door. Then I made wooden feet to hold the weight at the end of the couch-now my wife and I have a bed that's in between a queen and a full sized bed which was cirtical since we sleep at home in a queen.
I did pretty much that exact remodel of my '72 Overlander a few years ago, and am happy with it. I put a full-time queen bed in the rear curbside, and kept a small toilet/shower area in the rear roadside. The shower pan slides under the bed framing when not in use, and there is no sink. It's a doable remodel with fairly easy plumbing changes, PM me if you want to find my thread of the remodel. In any case, good luck and have fun! -tim
