How many can sleep in trailer?

I have a 72 overlap n der with 1 rear bed and the front foldout couch. The beds are 2 small for both me & misses, so we use both beds. How could we house more quests? sleeping bag on floor? I don't see how we can house more people?

One on the sofa and that is about it. Airstreams are basically 2 person trailers. And if you find a way to get more in there I doubt if they will all be asleep.

We slept four, and then five, in our 31' 1972 Sovereign Twin. My parents slept on the front fold out sofa, and my brother and I each had one of the mid twin beds.

When my sister was born, she slept for a time on a little plywood topper we made to sit on the bathtub. It fit her crib mattress nicely. When she outgrew that set up, she took over my brother's bed, and he slept on a very light weight, pre-futon, flip out sofa type thing beside my parents' bed.

Currently, my family of four each have a place to sleep in our 17' 1964 Bambi II. I added bunk beds where the closet used to be during the total renovation for the girls, and my wife and I use the front gaucho. We all sleep well.

Now we are redoing a 24' 1961 TradeWind, and the girls will have the mid-twin bedroom.

Everything comes full circle.

Our 2019 FC 25 RBT sleeps 2. That is plenty in a 25' AS.

Grew up in the 1960's as the youngest of 5 kids. 4 older sisters! We had a 25' Holiday Rambler trailer and we went all over the U.S. and some parts of Canada. That trailer only slept 2 also. All of us kids slept in a decent size tent with 5 cots in it. That arrangement work for many, many years. No moaning or groaning about somebody having a better spot to sleep. Those were the days......

At some point, a tent in the grass makes a lot of sense.

If they are clowns maybe 50. Seriously in 25 FTB, one each in twin beds, two in double with table lowered and one short person on sofa. So five that will be clawing to get outside in the morning.

Years ago when our family of five traveled together two children slept on the front fold out sofa and one slept on an inflatable double air mattress on the floor in our 29ft. Part of the mattress slid nicely under the fold down sofa which kinda made it like one large sleeping area up front. The air mattress wasn’t as wide as trailer so left a little room for the ones in the upper sofa to step down without disturbing their siblings.

Really? Look at your layout and how many beds you can have when they are made into beds; the size of each is important; our dinette is short in our 28' so we can get 2-3 grandkids in there. The couch is narrow, so 2 small adults max...not comfortable for big adults for sure. We have twin beds for DW and myself. Not rocket science...you could put sleeping bags on the floor I suppose... We also carry a tent when more folks coming along...with sleeping bags of course!

Perfect sense. We still use a nice tent when our adult children fly to meet us at our destinations and don’t want or are too far from hotels.

sleep cramming

If you are willing to redesign while rebuilding a 9x7 room can fit 9 singles for adults on triple stacked bunks with some storage area under the bottom bunk.
Similar to the arrangement that a train sleeper car uses. That 1 room change with using table benches and other fold out beds might let you get 12-14 people in a 24' trailer. About the seating capacity of the largest passenger vans, that could double as a tow vehicle.

search for sleep pods, shelter camp buldings, or multiple level bunks online top get some ideas.

Our rule is 6 for drinks, 4 for dinner, and **TWO** for sleeping.

We have the same year trailer and layout. I removed the credenza and table pieces and had a bench 5' long made that fits under the ss window. The bench has a kick panel that folds up and this all together adds 3 ' of flat surface. For sleeping, the bench pulls around to butt up to the open goucho and makes a very big bed (I have to use king size sheets). Unfortunately I don't have a picture, but it's a very comfortable arrangement and leaves the midship bed for guests. The downside is making the bed and dismantling after each use.

It’s an Airstream thing. Unless you get a bunk version, guest options are limited. I have Classic 30RBQ and as a friend observed, it’s drinks for 6, dinner for 4 and sleeps 2.

Short answer-depends on how hard it's raining.

We've had a 2 week trip in our 26U with our two teenage sons. They shared the enormous front dinette to bed conversion. Looked like plenty of room to me but they didn't much care for it, and on subsequent trips they've elected to take turns sleeping in a tent outside. The back of the pickup under the canopy would also be an option. I agree with those who've pointed out that Airstreams really are ideally designed for 2 people to be very comfortable dining inside, watching tv or reading, and esp sleeping. 3 is not a bad stretch, but 4 is a crowd.

I also observed my helpful insight about pioneers in covered wagons on the Oregon trail was not well received.

Sleeping arrangements in an Airstream are highly variable.

The size of the people sleeping is one factor, and how amenable they are to tight spaces, sleeping close to each other, how tired they are, what type of sleeper they are, and the conditions outside all play into the equation.

You can fit a lot of tired kids into even the smallest airstream in a pinch. Then there are adults who could not get a comfortable night's rest even if they were all alone in the largest trailer.

The answer depends much more on the particular sleeper than on the trailer.

And this is why we settled for the 30' FB Bunk model, queen for us, and still plenty of bunk space in the rear.

If you had two singles rather than a double, you could add a second bunk above each single (with proper reinforcement). Looks like an Army barrack...but stacking people is one way to do it.

My dad always said his 32' was for 2 people, of course we always had 4 at times. After my wife and I got our 25' some 24 years ago we realized why dad always said 2. The room and privacy along with being on your own schedule is nice. But then again we have slept 6, 2 in bed, 2 on couch bed, and 2 in the floor. Makes for an interesting night when someone needs to use the bathroom.
