How do I drain the fresh water tank ?

Winterizing my 1972 Overlander, I can't seem to find a drain on the fresh water tank. Is there one ? If so where might it be ?

Look for a cutout in the floor under cabinets on the same side of the trailer where you fill the water tank. For a '72 Sovereign, that would be on the door side, and the cutout would be inside the kitchen cabinets. Down in there, you should find the drain valve for the fresh water tank.

Here's where I found mine on my 1970 Sovereign. It's under the sink to the right of the furnance. That white tabbed knob way down there is the drain. If you have trouble reaching it, make a notched stick to reach down with - works like a charm.

In that recessed area, there are three taps. They are all for drains.

One is the hot water low point, another is the cold water low point, and the thrid is the fresh water tank drain.

You need to open all three as part of your winterisation activities.

There are also 2 valves in the bathroom cabinet to drain the lines back there as well.
Don't forget to remove the plug or open the drain on the water heater.
There are a number of good threads here on various winterizing techniques.

My fresh water tank does not have a drain. It's emptied by running the 12 volt pump.

Interesting. My 1974 Sov rear bath does, so I imagined that a 1972 would as well.
