buying AS

We are looking to buy our first airstream. Looked at a 1972 Overlander. Found one would say it is in fair shape nothing major seems to be wrong. Not used in a long time any idea what a fair price may be?

Totally depends on condition and the market in your area. What is fair shape to you? Any leaks, floor damage, all the appliances working? Does it have all the awnings in good shape? Most likely original axles so count on about 1500 to 2000 to replace those. Tires new or on their way out? See where I'm going with this.

If there is any such thing as an average price for a 72 that has sat a while and looks ok but otherwise in unknown condition I would say $2500 +-.

A month or so ago I bought a 75 Sovereign with a similar story for $2000.

Don't let your heart get ahead of your heart. Expect to put in a lot of time and money. The selling price is just a door opener.

If the Overlander has been sitting near the Gulf there could be a lot of structural corrosion you can't see.

Thanks for the info . After thinking about it and what needs to be done to it the price is a little high.
