Antenna for 1972 Overlander

I am trying to replace the antenna on my AS. It was recently stolen and the thieves stole the antenna by breaking the crank and the raising assembly. The AS was recovered with some damage. All I have now is a hole in the roof where the antenna crank used to be. Being new to this, I am wondering what all I need to purchase. Should I go with a new digital antenna?
Thanks

If you plan on watching TV off-the-air then, yes, buy a digital antenna.

The previous owners removed the TV antenna from our '72 and simply riveted and vulkem'd a large plate over the hole. We don't miss it at all. If we watch any TV at all we bring our Directv satellite dish with us and that's good enough for us. If we don't bring our dish, then if we hook up at an RV Park, we can always get cable.

Any TV antenna will pickup digital signals. They don't care whether the signal is digital or analog.

I do like having an antenna for local channels. Here in Little Rock, Dish local channels are not HD, but I can get the locals over the air in HD and use my Dish DVR. Works great.

Try this website they have parts for all kinds of old appliances like fridges and antennas etc. Used RVs, Motorhomes, and Consigned sales - PPL Motor Homes If you are not in a hurry I will be replacing my original crank up antenna with an electric one. You are welcome to any parts you need. It may be a few months until I get this done though.

they probably did you a favor...they're notorious for leaking, and its impossible to get parts for them.

I'd replace with a new "batwing". might even fit in the same hole.

I use an amplified Winegard batwing with a Wingman add on. Works for me
