Is this '69 worth $6500

Howdy Folks!

My dad's acquaintance is selling this '69 Sovereign LY INT (I think it is a 69 based on interior) and is thinking to ask about $6500, and probably won't be too negotiable as he is in no hurry to sell.

I've included some pictures - and he will have it put back together (he's replacing the fridge), have everything in working order, and title is clear. I have more pictures if needed. I asked about rusty floor in another forum, and also couch layout (if stock), so just wondering if this trailer has promise or not? Or if it should cost way less, or way more? I don't plan to resell it, and will probably add more retro stuff to it when I get the $$.

Carpet has been replaced (I'll ask him how the flooring looked), and looks like all hardware is there for cabinets, bathroom, kitchen, etc as far as i know or can tell. Other than the mess from changing the fridge, I think it was pretty clean and original.

The one thing that is unique for us about this trailer is that it is in an RV park which it will be able to stay in, so location does help the sale for me vs. any other airstream (that is being paid for seperately), but I still don't want to overpay too much in case I can sell it someday and swap it for maybe a rear twin if we have some kids....or whatever.

Thoughts? Questions?

Thanks!!

Hi j c c--Inside looks clean and neat. We have the same interior layout in our 1973 27' Overlander, which we find very versatile, as you have all of your interior space for use during the day, with no full time bedroom. Couch/beds are a little narrow. If we have an over flow guest, we use an air mat and sleeping bag on the floor. Works for us.

From the picks looks like no A/C. If this is the case price should probably be a little lower. If current owner is putting in a new RV fridge, with electric/propane his cost will probably be $1K to $1.4K, so he probably will not want to move much on price.

If it has spent most of it's life in an RV park, and also because of it's age, you may need new axles (see axle threads), which would cost about $1.5K, if you expect to do much over the road travel.

Check the floor yourself with an icepick around the edges. You're looking for soft spots, damaged by water, resulting from leaks. From the looks of the inside, your floor may be OK.

If I wanted another A/S, and it was located within a couple of hundred miles, I would consider buying it for $6.5K if all systems were OK, as you indicated. Good luck in your A/S quest.--Frank S
