Help! What year is my Sovereign?? LD7-39-KD

I was told by the seller (my uncle) that he believed it is an early 70's model. That is all he knew about the history of this trailer. I searched for the vin everywhere and finall removed the tow stabilizer from the A-frame and found the VIN!! I called airstream and read the numbers and (Randy) told me that I did not have enough numbers.... LD7-39-KD

I have attached some photos of the VIN, could someone please help. My floorplan matches a 67 exactly and is similar to many other years but reversed.

any info will help!

I'd look for the VIN # on the tag by the coach door. If it's not there, I'd look on the title.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Cory,

The square cornered rear access dooe suggests a 1967 or 1968 Airstream.

If the side windows have square corners, then that means it can only be a 66 to 68 trailer.

Those tail lights, if I remember correctly, came on a 1967, but I will double check when I get to my office.

Thanks but there is no tag by the door, on the side near the door, underneath the door, inside near the door and yet another challenge....no title! So I am assuming that this is not the VIN?

I would guess a 67 based on the tail lights, single window on the curbside, door hinge and the water heater location.
The VIN would confirm the year.
The format would be:

Quote:
1967 Sovereign 30'

Ohio | O(I) 30 7 J NNN
California | O(I) 30 7 S NNN
(5NN for double-bed layout)
(O prefix for standard Landyacht options, I for International options)
4670#empty weight

Have you tried the Texas DMV? Since it still has a plate and your uncle is the seller you may be able to get a duplicate title. My trailer is a little newer and the tag is on the curb side front, behind the propane tanks.

I was kind of off-center because of the painted(?) blue panels on the side, but the rest of it does look like something like a 67. I'd check it for tail droop for sure.

It's a 1967.

The 66's had a single belt line molding.

The double belt line moldings started with the 1967 models.

Thanks everyone, I am confident that it is a 67 from all of the vintage photos I have seen. There is no tail droop and everything works perfectly. I'm not sure if I want to restore it or sell it. As a builder I know how much work it will take and I'm not sure if it's a project I want to tackle just yet. Also I am 6-5" and the shower is smaller than a phone booth! I am fascinated however by the construction quality to withstand years of the elements it has endured

Yeah, I've learned to take showers on my knees in ours.
