Here's an old link to an outfit that makes custom teak mats...give it a try.

www.teakworks4u.com

EDIT: Sorry-old link was bad. Above should work better...

I thought about getting one because I really like the look. Then I remembered what it's like when I clean the bathroom after a weekend's use. That teak will not clean up like the fiberglass. I guess if you only sit while your in there it may not be too bad.

We have the teak floor and LOVE it but we never get it wet! We use it to let shoe and foot dirt fall through for regular bathroom use- Shower, we remove the teak floor and wash ourselves and fiberglass floor at same time. Teak floor keeps the bath LOOKING clean and really no maintenance at all.

Teak is wonderfully waterproof, but getting it wet and exposing it to sunlight makes it gradually weather to a gray color if left to itself.

Marine supply stores sell liquid, penetrating teak maintenance products that can be used on teak to maintain the color and make it even more waterproof. I would not be afraid to get a quality teak shower deck mat wet.

Lifting it up after use to let it dry thoroughly is still a good idea. Much nicer to stand on whilst taking a shower than the standard plastic shower pan, IMHO.

These mats so intrigued us we ordered a set of bath and shower. Called them and they said they fit the 22FB and 23FB model bathrooms. Today - free shipping (valentine code word).

Ok. We love the 22FB Sport but it is cold and technical inside and needs some wood-look so we figured what better way than floor and shower mats. (I think the woodwork in the Tommy Bahama is why they are so inviting).

Two weeks to construct up in Mn. so I'll post some pics when they arrive and are 'plugged' in and post any regrets or thrills.

Teak works great because it doesn't get slippery when wet. I have lots of it on my boat including the decks. Teak does oxidize and turn grey, doesn't hurt anything. Some people actually like the oxidized look but a stiff brush and soap and water will restore the original look. The problem in the shower is you have to remove and clean under it frequently as it does catch a lot of stuff that would normally go down the drain.

Yes, we love it! Highly recommend. Must be removed and cleaned once a week, but no big deal

tiki look

Got Teak this week, looks great and it works great !
Besides looking awesome, it adds a stability I like in the little wet bath.

How thick is the mat, wondering how much headroom will be lost.

You lose about an inch.

I’m 6’2” and don’t have a problem using our corner shower with it. Love the warmth it adds to the otherwise stale creamy white and silver bathroom.

I’m 5’9”, any of you close to that height who have installed the teak mats? How thick are these mat’s overall? I live the look, I’m just concerned about headroom in the corner shower

We bought a teak floor from teakworks several years ago. It will start to look a bit faded but being a former sailboat owner, you can buy "teak oil" from your local home-center to renew the finish. Don't use the oil in your trailer but take it down to your workbench or you will have a mess!

Wash down the teak with a brush and soap and water. Let dry and add the teak oil with a 1" foam brush. Let sit for 1/2 hour and wipe dry. Start a second coat after the first coat dries (teak oil is very thin like wood stain) and wipe off after ten minutes or so. Good as the day you bought it!!

Teak is a very oily wood and that is why it is used on sailboats and flooring mats for its waterproof character. I said oily but not slippery! That is why you have to replace the oil to keep it looking good.

Oh, one more thing; don't forget to do the backside!
