Plexiglass panels on Sport 22FB
On a swing from Texas to Michigan and back. Bad roads have caused the hex screws holding our plexi panels to back out and let the panels vibrate out of place. Fortunately no permanent harm done. We had a hex wrench set on board and put the panel back into place.
The panels are both esthetic and functional in that they provide light end-to-end inside the RV and the one on the sink side prevents splashes from reaching the bedroom area. I would likely never just remove them. But here are a few reminders to me:
*Carry a hex wrench to fit the screws.
*Tighten them occasionally between trips.
*Consider some RTV silicone dabbed on the screws and plexiglass to prevent vibration related loosening.
*Check the panels by wiggling them to see if tightening is warranted.
The roads responsible for loosening up hardware can happen anywhere and in any state. The torsion axle is helpful but not a sure prevention. I have had the wardrobe door latch come loose and other oddities happen in the last 2k miles of traveling. So I make certain I check it all when we get back to home port.
Other than that, we admire our Sport 22FB. “It prevails where the lesser rig fails”
