new cutlery drawer

My better half asked if i can add more space under the sink

Yes.

First i removed the bulky GLASS hinges and replaced them with BLUM slim hinges. They are less than 50 the height of the glass

i built a new box using BLUM self closing slides.
The cutlery tray is now the width of the opening
plus there was room for a sliding removable tray atop

not hard to make

A friend of mine did something similar for my cutlery tray to double the available space. He cut a notch in the back of the tray frame. Then, put in a sliding tray to give me 2 levels of storage in what was originally a 1 storage level drawer.

I thought it was a pretty cool idea I had never seen previously.

GOUSC, I’ve always liked this mod of yours. I’ve since seen it in several custom kitchens. But it always reminds me of your post.
