New Airstream 16' Bambi Owners

Hi all!
I hope I'm posting in the correct sub-forum? I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce my bride & myself to the forum & most importantly thank the forum members for all the help/assistance over the last few months.

I'll not waste to much of members time in a long story, but my sweet wife & I are long time tent campers & have visited many spots camping to CA, UT, AZ & others wonderful states out of our home in Granite Bay, CA. Last year during our camping trip to S. Utah we found ourselves having to move to different spots until we were able to get into our fav campground the UT state Petrified Forest Campground. While in another campground the day before while walking around we spotted a pop-up trailer & visited with the owner. On the drive home we decided we needed to get something. Our tent on wheels.

Making a long story longer, my wife began many months of research/study etc. & through that research decided on an Airstream Bambi 16'. On discovering this forum we were able to learn sooo much it made our selection/education possible.

You folks are the best! Thanks again!

Well we ended up buying the below 2009 Airstream 16' Bambi International Ocean Breeze. It was lightly used & in immaculate condition. We picked it up Friday & taking the advice & wise counsel from the forum, we had the dealer we bought it from inspect all the systems, bearings repacked, brakes done, all tanks cleaned flushed, etc. We also added the Blue Ox system & the Prodigy Controller.

Because there doesn't seem to many of the 16' Bambi International Ocean Breezes available (my wife decided on the model with 2 wrap around windows, rock guards, Ocean Breeze decor) we only have a slight idea on value. We bought it for just over $20/k & would love input if that was a fair value?

Sorry for such a long post, I do apologize if I'm out of line. But were so excited about our Bambi & joining such a wonderful vibrant community. We're hitting the road soon!

Thanks,
Greg & Pamela (pamelavida)

First... Congratulations on a sweet trailer. And yes, you got a fair price. So... no buyers remorse. Go out and enjoy it.

My Quiksilver is really similar to the Ocean Breeze. I love the wrap around windows and the faux teak floor! And it is a piece of cake to tow. That 16' will let you camp most anywhere.

Have fun and maybe we'll see you out on the road.

We really enjoy our 2015 Sport 16. The interior lay out works great for us. We liked the 19 also but it had features that we did not want or would rarely use. Ours came with a microwave but we had the dealer take it out and give us credit for it. We also took out the TV. We can watch movies and TV at home. Not when we are camping in the beautiful natural areas of our country. I guess we are still backpackers at heart and take pride in traveling light. We have 4,500 miles on ours so far and leave for the outer banks tomorrow. I think you both will love your Sport 16. Congratulations!

Both looking good. The one thing I would do and only if the tires are the original (check date code), replace them.
Congratulations now use it!

Ditto on replacing the tires, and make sure you replace the spare too.

If you liked the price - you're good! 😃

Love that trailer. It is so cute! And a friend has the Ocean Breeze decor - that is just beautiful! Enjoy!!!

You made an excellent buy...stop worrying. First of all...its done and you just take away from your joy (I danced around thinking "I got an AS...I got an AS). Second.. you got a great deal. Now get out there and camp! jon

Hey Greg, what favorite spot in UT? Or are you keeping it secret so you won't get swarmed with people wanting tours of the new trailer?

Good morning all!
We've been to the Escalante area a couple of times & enjoy camping (will now enjoy Airsteaming)

This trip we'll be heading up further north along 70 to explore that beautiful area. We live kinda at the base of Sierra Nevada foothills & +-100 miles from the CA Central/North Coast, we can't wait to head to those areas with our new baby as well.

Thanks all!!
