New 12v/120v fridge?

We have the oem 3 way fridge.

I heard the new as trailer only use the 2 way fridge
The outside is same as the old fridge.
But then side has much Rome space

Has anyone replaced the old oem fridge with a new one?

If so, what firm, item number, name of the new 2 way fridge

We would like to get it as we need more space than our current one 3 way fridge

We Replaced with Novakool

Our 2018 GT was 2 months out of warranty when the Dometic refer died. We replaced it with the Novakool 12/120 unit that is now stock on new Globetrotters. Having camped in 100 - 102 degrees for 3 days I can tell you it worked perfectly!
The only change was to reduce the height of the opening by 3/4" and add a piece of 3/4" plywood to the bottom of the original cabinet. It has much larger interior volume.
I don't have details on DC battery usage as we were on shorepower while camping. I'm not near my GT now, so can't send pics., but my wife and I are happy with this choice. Bought it from a marine parts supplier.

Compressor Refrigerator

We have the original Dometic in our 2016 22FB, and I don't think it has worked properly for more than a day or two in it's entire life. On a recent trip, I awoke in the morning to 49 degree air temperatures inside the trailer, and the Dometic was at 48 degrees interior temperature. And that is with a three computer fan array running in the outside top vent, propane flame going strong, etc. After extensive troubleshooting, I am giving up and replacing it with a compressor refrigerator so I can enjoy travel without having to worry every day if my food is going bad.

After doing a few weekends worth of research, I compiled a simple spreadsheet of various manufacturer models and sizes, and even including some preliminary cost information. There are multiple choices that will work. Not sure which one I will choose, but I have read that Lewster is an advocate for Isotherm or Vitrifrigo. TruckFridge has very good prices for a model identical to Isotherm, although perhaps with some quality differences? Dometic has a nice looking model, but not sure after my current problems. Best of luck with your choice!

What is the volume capacity of the sport 22fb 3 way fridge.

My spouse wants much more capacity with minimal cabinet changes. No details in the stock as documents
Tnx

The older Dometics were 4.2, and the NovaKools in the 2020 are 4.3 CF.

I agree that the new NovaKool compressor refrigerator units (R4500?) are 4.3 CF capacity.
With respect to the capacity of the original refrigerator, my 2016 22FB has the Dometic RM8501, which is only 3.4 CF. See attached specs from Dometic for the breakdown of refrigerator and freezer capacity.

Any idea why my Dometic RM 8505 3way (2016 22Fb Sport) decided to not work anymore on propane? I restarted it, reset it (yes gas is on & working on stove and water heater). Lights are on, the workings are all warm. I thought it was thermostat. But now I'm at a spot with electricity and now it is working. I had to throw out food, buy a Yeti and try to figure out where to put it. I'm at start of 6 month trip!

“Burp” it. Rock the trailer in every direction while the flame is lit. Or, drive it up and down a hill and/or on slope while it’s on propane, to get a “bubble” of vapor to move within the circuit.

Have you had any “smell of ammonia”? If you smell ammonia then your fridge has lost it’s charge.
