missing vent cap

Hello

I have a 2015 Airstream Bambi Sport. This looks to me like a "sewer vent" for the sink or the black water tank. It is on the roof and it looks like it is missing a cap. Can anyone help me identify what is going on here? I am posting a close up picture and a picture of the roof of the 16' trailer where the vent can be see on the passenger side of the AC unit.

Thank you for any help you can lend!

Yup. Vent is missing the cap. Time for a replacement.

Thank you! Do you know what the vent is called? I am trying to identify what part I need to order. Where would be the best place to order this from?

Thank you!

I think you have to buy the whole assembly. Looking at your photo, you have a crack on your existing as well, so prob not a bad idea to replace the whole thing.

While up there, seriously consider resealing the existing caulked areas as I see it starting to age and a likely place for eventual water intrusion in.

Thank you!

I do!

Hard to tell under all that caulk, but yea, that should be the correct replacement part. Make sure the rubber gasket comes with it or if not, see if they know the part number because I think caulk alone is only 1/2 the solution to water tightness.

All the caulk that is on there needs to come off, there are a number of screws to take out. Remove old. Clean surface well, apply rubber gasket, apply new using same holes, don't over torque as you are only screwing into sheet metal. Then re-caulk, look at your handy work and enjoy a beverage of your choice on a job well done!

I got the part on order. If there isn't a rubber gasket I was going to use butyl tape under the vent. What caulk do you recommend? I want to use a really great caulk, but a lot less! I think I will source some stainless screws because they really aren't expensive when you only need a handful.
