Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Model
This might have been a very newbish thing that I have done (as I'm sure this is a repost - if it is, feel free to delete this thread )
There has been a lot of oohing and aahing over the DWR airstream (which I find to successful, but less than inspiring application of interior decoration.)
This on the other hand strikes me as cleaner and purer (and much more classic)
Anyway Enjoy this (possible re)post =)
Here is the Article i Found with the most pictures =)
I'm going to have to talk to someone about getting that "the airstream company" plate . . .
Stuff like this makes me wonder why I am even trying to redo the interior in mine.
anyway - carry on.

Cursh,
Your instincts are right... the folks here have already "discovered" that one... but as you elude to... it is a cool trailer... designed by a cool guy.
Check out his website... if you have not already.
David Winick
You can also hear an interview with him on Episode 14 of the VAP.
BTW, his shop is located not that far from you.

"Stuff like this makes me wonder why I am even trying to redo the interior in mine." Cursh
That's the point I was trying to make in the other thread that talked about some of your redesign ideas.
I like what david Winick did with this 75th Edition. Just as a comparison, and to show off a bit, here is a Original layout 62' Safari that has been "Renewed" as I reconditioned and enhanced surfaces, edgings, surfaces with some replating, stainless, handles, etc.
As many know, if you start with one item it usually leads to the the thing next to it. But this interior was modern then and I think "Timeless" now. Not to say you cannot start from scratch, but to look at what works and what does not.
Some photos...

Screen door guard
Cursh, You can also buy that same screen door guard from the Airstream.com company store. There it runs $99.00 plus shipping and was also made by David Winick. Shipping to me in Illinois was about $13.00 when I bought mine last year.FYI Happy Trails, Ed

The 75th Anniversary Bambi's are great looking trailers. If anybody wants one they have a used one for 61K+ at Bates RV near Tampa. Unfortunately it has filiform corrosion on at least one of the curved panels. Noticed this when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Too bad.

I wonder how successful the sales of this unit have been for Airstream. There seem to be a lot of them still available at the dealers.

That's a lot of money for a little trailer. For that you could have a lot of fun redoing a vintage trailer and still have money left over when you got done!
It IS a beautiful design though.

They are very sexy little trailers, to be sure. We understand why folks are drqn to them. We came real close to getting one...but then the dealder backed out of the deal...the deal they proposed to us! Their loss and our gain...instead, we bought a new 2006 19' Safari Bambi SE LS from another dealier (Oasis RV in Tucson) and have been very pleased with both the dealer and our Bambi...a better decision for us in the end!

Just after I bought my '06 19CCD, Bates called me and said that they had the only '06 Anniversary model 19......it was the PROTOTYPE that Winnick built for Airstream.
I was really wanting this trailer, but we were so far apart on their price and the low-ball trade-in they were giving me on my yet unused CCD, I passed on the deal. I can always re-model my 19 to look just like the 75th anyway......and probably for a lot less than buying theirs!!

That's kind of cool. I wonder who ended up with it.
With these limited edition extra-expensive trailers, I always wonder if they get used like a regular trailer, or if people buy them for status symbols and tuck them away.
