Absolutely NO DETECTABLE CHANGE (despite what some know-it-alls-who've never done this mod theorize.)

Now you've done it, the know-it-alls will now have to tell you how unsafe it is now that it's lifted and to make it worse you tow with an inferior tow vehicle, a 4X4 pickup. Of course that can all be made right if you use the magical PPP hitch![emoji23]

For anyone else wanting to do this, keep in mind that it will void your Airstream warranty if you have any left.

So you think by putting on a lift made by the axle manufacturer they won't fix say an AC unit under warranty? Not likely...

Lift Kit and AS Warranty

1) There is no warranty left on my 2012 AS.
2) Does anyone really think that AS is going to cover the damage to the sewer plumbing or bent frame and sidewalls that may occur from the very common bottoming out that are inevitable with the factory set up? No, they'll just say you shouldn't have driven your trailer in that spot.

Bottoming out with this trailer is so common, AS should redesign this at the factory and lift them all.

Choose your evil, deal with a low rider or protect your warranty.

Do you still have this leftover 1/2 of the kit? I just bought a 2011 22FB and want to avoid dragging tail everywhere. My problem is made worse that the Airstream dealer had installed a 2" receiver tube for the original owners bicycle rack...

Yeah, I've read many of them...but they aren't as terrifying as the more dense/massive items that people have been shown to strap to the back. In our case the original owner didn't have it for very long, and the couple we bought it from never used it. The original owner did have some sway/control event that required several panels being replaced, unknown the status of that bike rack at the time. Seems many people forget the basics of physics and levers we learned in the school playground.

WTB 1/2 Kit

Looking to buy 1/2 of the Dexter 3" lift for a 2017 19CB Bambi.

If anyone still has a half kit available please PM me with details. I'd rather not buy the full tandem kit.

I just bought the Dexter #11 axle lift kit for a 2018 Bambi Sport 22 - if anyone wants the second half of my kit, let me know. I should have it by the end of the week. I paid 140 - so it would be 70 + actual shipping. Ships from Colorado.

Lift Kit on 22 Sport

I bought a Dexter #11 axle kit to lift my 2018 Bambi Sport 22. Couldn't be happier with the result. I have the other half of the kit to sell. Half of the purchase plus priority mail shipping = $88 total price to US addresses. Let me know, Thanks.

I have a 2016 22fb and want the axle lift kit. I'm waiting for my wife to tell me where the manuals are so that I can verify that we have the #11 axle. I'll get back to you asap. I live in SC.

Mike,

Welcome to airforums a fine collection of airstreamologists. Etc.

Dexter had s lot of info on axles and they mark the axle with a nice label on the beam roughly in the center. I bet you’ll find enough info there to figure it out.

I did the heavy lifting for a friend on a 30’ Classic a couple years ago on a lift kit install. Sound easy but can bite ya.

FWIW I’m just a shortish ride down I-20 in Hartsville.

Gary

I have the owners manual for the axle but it was of little use. I did go and look at the axle and I do believe it is the #11 dexter axle. Thanks for responding. I attempted to send LCONTINENTAL a PM. I'll have to wait and see if that worked. Thanks again, Mike

Lift Kit on 22' Sport

Mike

Look for the label and search the Dexter number.

Can you see the load capacity on the label? Dexter website shows #11 is 4100-6000 lb capacity.

It is 4500 lbs. I'm pretty sure that it is a #11 axle. I did see a label on the axle that had lots of different numbers on it. In one spot I saw 11a. Thanks again

Mike,

If you can safely lift and support the trailer then remove both wheels you pretty much had the access you need. Then it’s knuckles v sharp edges etc.

But before dropping an axle I’d scribe mark its position straight up onto the frame and return it to that position after lift is installed.

15/16” wrenches will get workout.

Count your bandaids, we score based on how many used.
