33,000+ messages on this string and who knows how many lift kits installed, yet AS still doesn't offer this as a factory option or a dealer installed option at many dealers. Seems like someone is missing a big message.

I agree ChrisnPatty! Never the less, for anyone in need I have a single axle kit for sale. Not too bad to install!

Received and installed the kit.

Thanks to NCYankees for a very fair price and quick shipping, I received the half lift kit today.

It took about 3 hours to install, major problem was the copper propane line was run thru the original axel mount on the port side. It was obviously made after the axel was installed because I had to cut the flare off to fit it thru the axel mount. I had hoped to be able to leave it in place but that would just not work out. (photo).

Just a note to people who will be installing this. THE biggest help is to have an impact wrench (electric or pneumatic) as the old bolts (4 of them) and the new bolts (8 of them) have lock nuts (thread is cut deeper near one end of the nut) so you cannot simply spin them with your fingers. With an impact wrench you spend about a minute each on them. With an end wrench and ratchet I would imagine about 10 minutes each and a lot of sweat. Because of the lock nut, if you are having trouble starting the nut on the bolt, just flip the nut over and it easily spins on up to the deeper threads. Also put the side plate bolts in first (as the instructions say) or it will be hard to get a socket on the side bolts. (Found that out the hard way...)

I measure a true 3-inch lift after installing it and am happy with the quality and workmanship of the kit. Thanks again to NCYankees for selling me half of his kit.

Michael

3 hours is impressive - you must be a pro. I took all day and yes, I had to stop and go buy copper tubing and a flaring tool. Ever-so minor re-route, but that copper doesn’t stretch.

One note on my install, the 2019 Sport 22FB gas line still runs through the axle mount, but the line is a rubber hose instead of the copper pipe. Made the install much easier.

I have a 2014 22FB. The dealer here in Salt Lake originally had me use the #10 kit. It didn’t fit right. I’m pretty sure it is the #11 kit for the 22FB. There is a sticker on the axle that identifies the size and Dexter can tell you for sure. I returned mine and the dealer was fine with swapping me. The Bambi’s do only use half a kit but the Salt Lake Airstream people were good with selling me only half. Perhaps because we are in a mountain region so they know they will be using the other half. With all of that being said you will know you have the right kit because the holes will line up or not. Measure before you take things apart. It is not a hard job. You will most likely need to move or at least cut and rejoin the gas line for the fridge because it is in the way so be prepared for that with the plumbing parts.
I would also highly suggest using an impact wrench.
Overall this is one of the best upgrades you can do. I think it only really raises the coach just under 3”, but it is worth all of your effort.
There are a few other additions we have done. Bumper, upgraded 6 volt tandem batteries, electric tongue jack.
But then my unit has a rebuilt title and I have been doing some “customization “ ( that were necessary) to make it wonderful again. I should post this info where it is on topic.

For the Sport 22’, it’s definitely the #11. I just finished installing mine as did Captnmike with the other half of my kit.

I installed the kit on our '16 22FB. Wish I had done it sooner. Worked out great! My wife has some trouble getting up the step so I removed and attached a double step from a 2015 International. I had to do a little bit of grinding to attach where the original step was mounted and drilled two holes in the side plates to add more support.
My sweetheart LOVES the mod! I'll add pictures if needed. It was a couple of hours of easy work.

Hi Mark - yay, yes. I may end up having to cut notches in my driveway to fit it under my carport, but I'm prepared to do so! The dragging sewer valve is such a huge problem with this model!

Inland RV appears to be selling a single axle kit for the #11 torflex axle.

Anybody happen to be selling a single axle Dexter #11?

Seems that InlandRV is out of stock, eTrailer only has the single axle in a #10....
