Bumper install -22FB
i have installed the 22FB bumber kit
i ordered it from canam (london ON). it took 3 months as AS factory kept delaying the order
the documentation , as usual, does not list all step or details
if you are handy, you can get it down in 1/2 day with one person

Wow nice addition! I bet with your solar additions it’s really getting that custom look. Can we see a few more shots from further out?

I've been researching for the rear bumper. Why does the bumper extent out so much. Is there a storage in that area?

Yes, Its storage. we with keep the bulky items in it
you have the option of removing the storage and the bumper would be much closer.
given the limited storage already, i need it

if you plan to install a bumper, you should tap thread into the bumper posts as the metal is hard. AS does not mention this , but if you don't, you wont be able to get the bolts in
here are the final looks.
we filled the bumper area with our bulky power cables.
here is are cleaned , lit curb side storage area and we moved the fresh water hoses to a shelf i build atop the gas cans

The bumper and the solar seem to complement each other and provide balance.

I don’t find the bumper to be water tight, you may want to reverse the contents of your storage areas, leveling bricks and sewer parts are waterproof not so with electrical connectors.

no, its not water proof.
i added extra holes in the bottom so that water flows out easier.
the power cables are very bulky and so were the fresh water lines.
that's why i looked for new homes for them

Did the bumper bolt on, did you have to drill holes?

Hi Waninae,
The bumper certainly gives the trailer a ore complete look. Whenever I look at ours, it feels unfinished.
Is the bumper kit a typical kit? I am thinking that it is a bit wider than the Sport’s narrow width but more in line with the wider Bambi’s at 8’-0”. It is hard to tell from the photo.
Anyway, it looks great and you have more storage and more protection.

Do you happen to still have your instructions for the install? Before I order one, I would like to read them over. I am very handy so I don't think this is an issue for me to install, but I would like to look it over. The deal want's $1000 to install it.

Am I to believe there was no bumper in the rear? If so, is this Canada thing?

The Sport models didn’t come with a rear bumper. I think the Bambi models are coming that way as well.

This is great, I didn't know you could get an aftermarket bumper. I'd been looking for a way to add a bike rack to my 22' Sport. Thanks for sharing!

Looks great!
We keep our waste water dumping hose and fittings in ours, since it keeps those things outside and no one is likely to steal them.
On our 2004 22’ CCD, the rear window is an emergency escape route in case of fire, so we won’t be placing a solar panel there (although it does look nifty!). I would be worried that a park ranger/ officer or border agent might be able to deny us usage of our camper until that barrier was removed, as well.

Do the bumper rails attach to the C channel skids beneath the belly pan? Or do you have to remove the belly pan and attach the bumper rails to the frame members? Thaks

My understanding is that the bumper members slide into the frame box tubes. You have to cut out holes in the black plastic banana wrap concealing the box tube ends. You drill pilot holes through the frame and into the bumper member for the supplied self tapping screws. I’ve read of some installers using tapped holes for hex bolts instead of using the self tapping screws. After installation, caulk around the seam where you cut the holes in the banana wrap.
This thread may be helpful. https://www.airforums.com/forums/f29...cb-221082.html

Where did you get the solar panel assembly to cover the back kitchen window?
