Bambi Lead Times - Summer 2020

We just placed an order for a 2021 Bambi 22FB and dealer is estimating a Jan/Feb 2021 delivery. I am interested to know if others are getting quoted 5-6 month lead times or am I getting quoted a long time so my expectations can be exceeded?

What are you hearing?

We ordered the same trailer in July and was told it would arrive in late September. We’re still hoping it’s true. Counting the days.

Sounds good. You don't have to store it during the winter months.

Placed an order two weeks ago for a late Feb early March delivery. What kind of discount did you get off MSRP?

I see you are in Raleigh, so did you place your order with Out of Door Mart or another dealer?

We ordered mid August, and were told mid Oct/Nov. Suspicious tho, as deposit was never run on our CC. We requested a VIN late last week and haven’t heard back. We’d be ok with a longer wait at this point — we’d initially hoped for a used one, before COVID, ironically, for Fall fire season travel away from our Aframe in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Looks like once again, we’re a little behind the wave!

We ordered a Classic 33 on June 27 - we still do not have a VIN and told it would come off the line in Ohio, Nov 4. Then they said 7 days transit to Tampa and another 10 days for them to prep. We have set up camping reservations for Thanksgiving week but I highly doubt that happens.

How do you request your VIN? Is that through the dealership you purchased it from or from Airstream directly?

Yes, contact your salesperson - they told me your VIN is created right before the build starts.

Without trying to sound like a wet blanket.... pre new factory and pre COVID, Aistream was pushing out 50/week or roughly 2600 trailers a year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airstream#Production

If there is a 3800 unit backlog, the math is pretty easy to estimate.

If the dealer you ordered from has one in the pipeline and can "make it yours", great, but keep in mind that any quoted numbers are contingent on no further COVID delays (shutdown, supplier parts shortages, etc).

If your dealer does not have a current order in for your specific model that they are "making yours", then your wait could far exceed 90-120 days....and to be honest, even at 50 a week, I'd question the quality of the unit as I have been to the factory several times. It's a fairly complicated and lengthy process of putting one of these together properly.

I would be interested in hearing what actual deliveries are being made from the actual customer order being placed AND, how the units are looking coming off the factory floor. I just saw a thread on a brand new GT delivered to a dealer with trim falling off and screws over shot and exposed. I believe this GT was already in the dealer's pipeline for this customer.

Ordered our 22FB on June 18th.
It arrived at the dealer October 3rd.
Took delivery on October 8th.
Maiden voyage on October 15th to NC mountains.
Returned home October 21st with no trout.
Tows great, no major issues, except learning how to master the awning.
Heading out again in 2 weeks.

amxpress, Sorry to hear there were no trout I too plan to go after trout in NC mountains when I get mine. Just heard this week that my order from mid-august has a offline date of January 26, 2021. Thus, I will need to wait for the snow to melt before I will be trout fishing in mine.

Glad to see people starting to receive their orders from early/mid-summer. Sounds like lead times extended as the summer progressed.
