Excellent pics! Can you give some info on the light beside your bathroom window in that second pic? Our Bambi needs something like that.

Porch Light

Prior to picking up our 2013 Sport we had the AS dealer (Southwest Coaches in Corona, CA) install a porch light off the Safari.

They ran the wiring over to the wall to the left of the sink in the kitchen. I wasn't happy with the amount of light the standard unit down by the step put out.

They did a stellar job and it looks factory. They also added a second battery up front and I plan on returning this year to have them install the segment protectors on the front of the tin can.

Awesome!

Absolutely beautiful picture of what looks to be a great campsite. Thanks for sharing!

Joshua Tree

We just got back last week end from Joshua Tree and stayed at Jumble Rocks.

The weather was wonderful for February. Not alot of people yet but come Spring the park fills up fast on the week ends. I forgot my camera so no pix's to share .

We're heading out to Zion and Bryce for Easter week so I'll post some photos when we get back. We're taking our new rescue Rough Coat Collie Conner with us; it will be his first camping trip and now that Jack is 14 he's staying home with family.

WOW! The raptor pics and ggoats! Awesome. Love the extra awnings and wheel treatments. I must be talking to the SWMBO now.

That was taken on the 23rd of November. We'll be heading back up that way the first week of May to fish etc. I love the eastern sierras and the Alabama Hills. We're up there at least once a year - twice last year. Maybe we' catch you sometime.

We try to get up to the ES as much as possible. We have vacation property in the little town of Keeler accross Owens dry lake from Lone Pine.

We hope to build on it so we can park the AS and use it as a week end getaway.

I've included some photos of the property and Keeler.

Michael, congrats on your new dog. One hardest things I ever had to do was retire my 14 1/2 yr. old Golden (Shane) from the horse pack trips I used to guide. Even tougher was saying that last goodbye. I hope yours is a ways off.

Thanks for sharing the pictures from your property in Keller - I've never been over there. You can't beat that view can you? When we were up in Lone Pine in November we saw a 16'
like yours in storage in back of the rv park there - it wasn't yours was it?

You also mentioned going to Zion over Easter break. We were up there two years ago the last week of March and I was shocked at how crowded it was compared to years past. I remember 20 years ago going up there the middle of April and having the place to myself! Those days are over.....sadly.

On that trip two years ago we camped in Snow Canyon SP just outside St George one night, where there were some nice little hikes and scenic vistas.

We took two weeks on our trip which went by quickly. We also went on to Bryce, which was less crowded. From there on to Scenic 12 through the Escalante Staircase National Monument. This is one of our favorite places anywhere and the drive is spectacular. Great camping and hiking and just plain relaxing. We hated to leave there but we wanted to at least get to Capitol Reef before heading home. CR is another great place to hike and explore.

I don't know how much time you have or if you've been to these places? But if you want more info let me know or PM me.

Have fun with Conner... Utah has always been pretty dog friendly.

Zion / Bryce

I go every year to Yosemite and its the same thing there. I go either before Memorial day or after Labor day in the fall.

Up until the last few years I could always snag a site in the valley and have multiple choices of campsites. I few years ago the park service demanding you show a picture ID when you checked in to prove you we're the person who made the reservation.

What was happening, people we're making multiple reservations and then selling them on line for up to ten times the face value! Visitors from Europe and Asia were paying up to $200 a night for a camp site in Upper, Lower and North Pines!!!!

Now whenever Tioga is open we stay at Mono Vista RV park in Lee Vining and then drive into the park for day trips.

I'll be with family members who only "camp" in places with full hook ups so we'll be just outside of both Zion and Bryce.

In Zion we have planned a day horseback ride which I'm looking forward to.

I'll post photos of the trip, the AS and Conner when we get back.

Oops, accidentally sent that before I finished it. Anyway, it's crowded everywhere it seems. I love Yosemite and have spent a lot of time there over the years. I've always been an off season traveler for obvious reasons... Crowds. At the top of Tipga pass is Saddlebag lake and campground (no hookups) - it's always been one of my favorites - and they've recently made improvements. When I was younger we'd camp there the night before and after backpacking that area.... Just beautiful.

Laurie and I are heading out for two weeks around the 19th - destination.... Still undecided. We're going to watch the weather and go where the mood takes us.... Can't wait. I'll post some pics too. Safe travels.

Conner

I volunteer for Southland Collie Rescue here in So Cal. Conner is a 4 year old Sable and White that came in from a family out of Temecula.

He's you're typical Colllie; follows you around the house and is the ultimate velcro dog. We plan on spending a few nights in the trailer with him prior to leaving so he gets used to the small space.

Traveling with a dog does limit where you can go but we enjoy having them along for company. Our other Collie Jack retired this year from RV'ing due to age.

His "Grandma" will stay and look after him which he enjoys since she trys to fatten him up with lots of dog treats.

Heck, you could park a Bambi beside a landfill and it'd still be eye-candy to me.

Great pics, glad you posted!

Welcome

Fishhunt,

Welcome to the AS club. I'm a California boy but my family is from Houston. I'll be in Baytown later this year with the AS to visit with my extended family and always enjoy being in the Lone Star State.

My previous trailer was a Casita which they build up in Rice so my Texas roots run deep.

BTW, you're state has some of the nicest rest areas in the country. I included a couple of photos from one located NW of Dallas that made me laugh!
